Oh boy. That’s not going to break ever, no, not at all. I somewhat like EV conversions, but this one seems notably sketch.
It looks pretty typical for an old school ev conversion. EV technology has progressed quite a bit since then though, namely the batteries. You can get lighter higher capacity batteries than a lead acid battery nowadays. Not to mention cleaner ways to install the system due to things getting smaller and lighter.
Probably this. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Letterkenny_(TV_series) Hey, to quote Michael Scott, the world’s smartest man, “there is no such thing as an appropriate joke. That’s why it’s a joke.”
So, I own one of these (pic off of Guitar Center becuase my phone camera does not like that finish at all), I really want to put a roasted maple neck on it. To me it seems like a neck swap is really simple, but one person I know who has experience with this sorta stuff told me it's way more difficult than it seems. Even though 4 screws seems very simple to me... Has anyone here done a guitar neck swap and have an opinion on this? (Yes I know the neck would cost as much as the guitar is worth... Just ignore that issue) Also, being me I mentally had to one up my ideas when someone else told it's too difficult for me, so now I want to build a kit guitar. Thoughts on that too?..
Obligatory plug for guitar discussion. Never done a neck swap, but provided you’re good with your hands it shouldn’t be hard. Just make sure the scale length is correct (most aftermarket strat necks should work). Kits guitars don’t look to hard. I’m planning out a build on one this winter. I’ve heard www.solomusicgear.com ‘s necks are quite good, you might want to check out what they have. Warmoth is also a solid choice, so don’t feel obligated to stock fender necks. Sweet finish btw.
Yeah, that's the website I was looking at, I am seriously considering a LP kit with P90's. Here is my guitar collection with 1 of my 2 pianos. Heavy instagram filtering is the only way I could get the strat's finish to come out.
I’m considering either the HH Jazzmaster they make (or thefretwire’s HSH) or possibly one of the flame LPs. They look quite high quality. I’m not sure the neck swap is worth the money, but it’s ultimately your guitar.
Oh it is defiently is not worth the money, one of those necks cost as much as a used HSS Mexican strat. But it's worth more than the money to me.
Something I found on Craigslist, but for sure not a Craigslist score. 30” rims. How this person got anywhere in the winter, I haven’t a clue. https://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hnp/ctd/d/brainerd-2010-chevrolet-impala-lt-4dr/7011364252.html
I just learned how much the president of my university made last year. While we are all struggling to pay tuition and the financial aid department is telling us to take a hike if we have any issues, the various higher ups each make more money a year than most of us probably will in 20... Makes you wonder...
The vice chancellor at the uni I graduated from made £295,000 in 2018 (incl. all benefits [incl. pension] [£242k basic salary]). Total staff costs for the year were £85,726,000 (290x Vice Chancellors pay check). Total income of the university was £152,296,000 (516x Vice Chancellors pay check). Total debt was £64,735,000 Operating Surplus was £984,000 If it was a bigger UK university, I think the pay would make more sense to me. But for a small university like the one I went to, it is perhaps a little bit much, but not too outrageously so. Obviously there is a lot of responsibility held by that position, and therefore it should pay well.
