What would a map of all the BeamNG.drive maps look like? (Virtual maps like Gridmap and Grid, Pure NOT INCLUDED) No time to make a map in Photoshop, so let's put it in words. The game takes place mostly in the USA. The modeled states include California (WCA), Utah, Texas (Cliff, Small Island and Derby Arenas) and Maine (ECA and Hirochi Raceway). We can say that the Utah map is located east of WCA. ECA is far from these maps. Off the coast of Derby Arenas' state, Texas, lies Cliff and Small Island. Back to ECA, the Hirochi Raceway is probably located northwest of ECA, so it could possibly be in Firwood County as well. Far from mainland USA, in the pacific, lies Jungle Rock Island in the state of Hawaii. Let's head to Europe. The ETK Driver Experience Centre map is located in Germany, as it's based on the real BMW Driving Experience Centre. Italy is a Meditteranean island, far from ETK Driver Experience Center.
Small Island and Cliff have the wrong environments to be off the coast of Texas. From the foliage, terrain, and buildings on Small Island I would guess that it is on the Eastern Seaboard, but it could be in the Northwest just as easily. Cliff map's geological features (and to a lesser extent, flora) are completely wrong for Texas, so it's much more likely to be part of an island arc somewhere in the Pacific where this sort of terrain is common.
We're talking about the world of BeamNG, not the real world. So in BeamNG, the environments of Cliff and Small Island may be a different Texas than the Texas we know in the real world. (You can tell they're supposed to be Texas by the default license plate set for those maps)
I suppose so, but the world of BeamNG has been quite realistic/similar to our world so far. I wouldn't be surprised if the Texas license plate set is a placeholder for those maps until the devs decide to spend the time deciding where they actually are in the game-world. It's a low priority issue, so I don't expect to see any changes for a while.
Yeah, that could be possible. Like you said, I'm sure there are more important issues for them to solve.
DRI is almost guaranteed to be Hawaii (as it was the predecessor of/inspiration for JRI), or a Pacific Island territory. The industrial buildup could have been a fish cannery that upped stakes at the thought of having to treat/pay the local workers like human beings; it's happening right now in American Samoa. Alternatively, they could have been run off by environmental regulations.
Wait, so, what about the other mods? Maybe include those too in another edition, even though they won't ever make it into the campaign, it really helps make the map bigger with more areas (over 300% bigger)
Oh yey And i'm sure somebody said something about Italy being midterrain island... but there's no posts since 2K17... and Italy was introduced in December 2018... wait what..? --- Post updated --- Yes, there it is... but then there were no Italy? How? Somebody explain?
