one of the last updates changed the awareness back to how it was so the game was fun again, and now the newest update has changed it back so they no longer crash again at all! Can’t we just have both options rather than one or the other!
You could simply force the AI to go a forced speed, they would be forced to turn early yet not brake, maybe passing if lucky. Options would be nice, but it wasn't originally thought of as an issue as far as I know. First time I've heard it being preferred. I wouldn't say it's bad, simply different. The lack of AI Awareness was also a bug in an update, not on purpose.
try to spawn cars manually rather then using the auto spawner. It seems to me there are issues with the IDs of the cars when auto spawning.. I'm going out on a limb here, but based on it mucking up spawn count and producing sporadic results requiring a bit of troubleshooting to get working lately. I'd say just use the app, manually spawn the cars individually, set the number of AIs and see what happens. I'm also unsure, but it seems to be more of an issue in my experience on Utah and Italy.
I’m spawning the cars manually and placing them round a oval track, so they aren’t set as traffic. Put them on random and they follow the line perfect but they want to make 0 contact with each other . Just constantly stopping and swerving out of the way. A game as awesome as this with the best crash physics ever should be about crashing surely and not being cautious. Can’t we just have a option added so “random” was how it always was where they pay no attention and just crash and a “aware” option so they think about what they are doing and brake for pile ups etc?
You know there is a check for awareness to turn it off, yeah? Did you try actually using the AI app? --- Post updated --- Simply use the traffic debug app Set to random and leave awareness off, they seem to go around the figure 8 on Hirochi raceway like a banger derby just fine, banging and scraping like boneheads around the course. Just like the hilariously amazing traffic bug from the glitched hotfix. Hmmm, upon closer inspection I can see that you can't quite replicated the old bug, unless you bug it out completely like I've experienced occasionally.
Manually spawning doesn't stop this AI app from working.. it calls it's self the traffic app, but it can act as an AI control in general, I cannot confirm if all the settings work outside the traffic option.. but manually spawning certainly doesn't break it.. if anything the auto spawner seems to break everything for me sometimes.. I've had it spawn 13 cars instead of "7" for no good reason multiple times in the latest version.
Just tried it, even with stop awareness on they still completely avoid each other so it doesn’t work.
Yah I noticed it sadly doesn't seem to work in practice... I would like to see a proper legacy "bugged" no awareness mode, driving like a jerkoff through east coast while avoiding 7-8 cars worth of bonehead traffic was incredible fun. Being able to get that on the fly at will would be great for sandbox purposes.
Thanks for the report, it appears the 'Stop Awareness' button is not functioning as it should. We will be checking that.
Also recommend looking into trying to replicate abnormalities with the debug autospawner. Sometimes it spawns the wrong count through the debugger, and when that happens the awareness returns to broken unless you delete the AI and respawn, try hard resetting every car, or just resort to manually respawning.. it seems to happen more outside of West/East Coast. I dunno if it's isolated to me or not. But just curious to see if it's not just me. Italy and Utah (especially on freeways) seem to agitate the issue with the auto spawner. Wish you luck!
@Nadeox1 @GILDO125 One way to bug the awareness seems to be to spawn cars manually on a map and then hard save all the cars in the map with the editor to the map, close the game, reload, and use AI with a map that has the cars pre-loaded into it. This is what is breaking everything for me on Utah. ~Mileage may vary As for Italy.. I honestly don't know why the AI awareness sometimes breaks on it, sometimes doesn't. --- Post updated --- I also find the grand marshal sometimes breaks and the AI physically forgets how to shift or launch it at all, idk if it's unique to east coast or just the grand marshal.
So, for now it appears that the 'Stop Awareness' setting changes as soon the vehicle start teleporting around. If you spawn the vehicles with the setting enabled, awareness will get disabled as soon they start teleporting around. The opposite happens with the setting disabled. This appears to happen only when using the Traffic app. The Radial Menu always have awareness enabled. So for now, if you do not want awareness, spawn traffic with it enabled, and they will stop having awareness as soon they start teleporting. Will be fixed for the next update
0.o I thought Enabled meant they had the awareness to "Stop".. I was reading it backwards? I guess I thought that made more sense to me. Guess it makes more sense in my head as "Dynamic Awareness" -Shrugs- ~Also thanks for the insight on how it operates.
I think you read it right, if you tick the 'Stop Awareness' setting (ie. enable it), it should stop. But it seems to be working on the opposite way as soon the vehicle start teleporting around, this is a bug that will be addressed.
No what I mean by how I read it backwards was.. I was reading as if Enabled = They have the awareness to stop Disabled = They are simply not aware
