I want a cave update. Make the world 1024 layers high with 768 layers underground, add cave systems that get more dangerous (and lucrative) as you dig down, maybe different layers of stone requiring different tiers of tools. Any reasonably modern computer could handle that.
Ehhh the teir'd tool system is good as-is imho, although the last 50-75 blocks should be harder to break because of pressure.
Good idea, actually. Keep the tiers (although you will have to dig deeper to get them, and this will be more dangerous), but make mining slower as you go down. Oh, and bring back void fog for the lowest 128 layers, with mobs' eyes glowing through the fog. Add a helmet enchantment that mitigates it (Miner's Eye?) Maybe at the lowest layers, you will find that more and more stone blocks get replaced by magma blocks, making caves somewhat dangerous to navigate when void fog comes into play.
Microsoft has so mismanaged the game. I guess appealing to children is more profitable than making an actually good game. Well, that's to be expected. But valuing the profit over the health of the game to this extent... It's almost insulting that they do these votes for what the community wants but won't listen to the community saying what they want outside of their stupid polls. Those phantoms are idiotic, I'm glad there's a gamerule to turn them off in the snapshots. Content is going at a ridiculously slow pace. I could ramble for a very long time about content I want to see. In short: make mobs and raids more interesting (more mobs from legends/myths/folklore, zombie hoards that even an experienced player would prefer to hide than run from, expand raids (they are fun but kinda in a bare minimum state right now. Even the way they are summoned feels like a last minute "we gotta spawn them somehow" decision), massively increased content for mining (as vmLinuz said, the return of void fog and a reasonable increase in world depth are needed), more ways to industrialize survival mode (my biggest issue with survival mode is you really can't build on a large scale unless you no-life it like a World of Tanks mission marathon), etc... Also, misc content that I want enough to mention seperately: binoculars and a tree with a light gray/off white wood. That would be an awesome addition to the color palette. As for performance... Just, why... Why is it still programmed with obsolete computers in mind primarily?... That's just lazy.

I decided to try playing Forza Motorsport 7 again tonight. My opinion of that game hasn't changed from when I first bought it. It's pure, crystalline, 100% organic shit. Good thing I played with some friends because the game is zero fun otherwise. Absolutely none. I'd rather sit and watch glue dry while having all the hair on my head pulled out one by one than touch the single player campaign again. It's actually that bad. How the hell they made something like a silhouette race car feel like it weighs 16,000 pounds and has brakes the size of quarters I don't know, but they managed it. It's fucking disgracefully awful. It's somehow worse than Forza Motorsport 5, and that was a game where the Nurburgring was a DLC added after release. I never though I'd say a game was worse than FM5, but here we are.
So I was looking at Minecraft mods which I wish were official content and realized something... Bugbear: Finds good modder, hires him as a contractor to put his maps in Wreckfest and put dynamic assets in all maps. Oovee: Finds good modder, hires him to continue updating Spintires after Pavel went to a new publisher. BeamNG: Finds multiple modders to help with maps, vehicles, and traffic. Microsoft era Mojang: Finds good modder, says "they will do our job if we just sit back and do nothing for long enough."
