A few years ago, we had car models lined up for a few years ahead. However, now that the Wendover is going to be released as the last of them, is there anything more we can expect to be made in the future? And what about maps? Is anything coming after Italy?
And I meant the Wendover being the last of the vehicles that have been modelled, with all the other old models now made into in-game cars.
I'd assume there is definitely more cars and maps coming, but they just haven't been announced or worked on in detail. It could be like the Hopper or SBR4 where it just came out of nowhere with very little clues/context.
Thinking about it, I wouldn't be surprised if the main focus is improving the older content. We may see more unannounced levels/vehicles after all the levels/vehicles that need to be remade are complete.
We know of at least one concept they were recently thinking about, plus they mentioned in Over the Horizon that they want to cover "every archtype". More cars are certain, though as mentioned they might take a backseat *pun* to updating content. No idea at all about maps though.
I will be disappointed if Italy is the final map. I'm fine with not getting any more American maps, but the major lack of European (we only have the ETK map and Italy) and Asian (Only JRI so far) maps is a still a major issue.
IMO there's 3 maps we need Mountainous Japanese map Any full winter map And I know it is beyond unlikely, but a Cuban map would be incredible. Bright color pallete, fields and cities both, incredibly unique car culture...
Honestly, if we get any more maps, this is what I would go with: French map - Possibly a map that is entirely urban based on Paris. Reasoning: French car culture is completely absent from BeamNG and this would be a perfect way to introduce a French marque, possibly Charmand. Also, Paris is a pretty neat location and a BeamNG counterpart would be awesome to see. German map - Features forest, Autobahn, villages/towns, small city (possibly like Bremen, would work well as Bremen connects to the Autobahn and has a lot of nearby forest). Reasoning: BeamNG is a German company, and not featuring a large German map would be odd. Bremen, BeamNG's home provides a suitable location for a German map. Japanese map - Features a major city with a freeway system, mountains, villages and towns, possibly an island. Reasoning: BeamNG features a large number of Japanese cars including two JDM cars, yet there is no Japanese map. Besides being a major map set in Asia, a Japanese map could feature a wide variety of driving locations and scenery. Australian map - Large map with a coastal city and lots of countryside. Set in the winter, as BeamNG is set in northern hemisphere summer and southern hemisphere winter. Reasoning: BeamNG doesn't feature Australian car culture and also lacks a major snowy map. An Austrailan map would kill two birds with one stone, by allowing for both a major map set in Oceania, as well as allowing for a major snowy map. If there was another American map, I would go with a map based on Georgia, featuring a massive sprawling city (Atlanta based ofc) with tons of suburbs and sprawl, mountains, forests, flat countryside, small towns, massive freeways and tons of highways, basically being what WCA aspired to be if most of the map wasn't taken up by a racetrack. Reasoning: Out of all of the remaining American regions, the Southeast is the most neglected. Unlike Florida, which is mostly flat, Georgia provides a large amount of diverse terrain perfect for driving.
The quote is best interpreted as this: "If we make another electric car, it will have conventional battery placement."
I agree with you, and I think BeamNG.drive needs EUDM and JDM variants for some cars. It's unrealistic to drive USDM cars in italy
