East Coast USA - Feedback welcome

Are we in Maine or New Brunswick? I forgot.

 

As I said, I don't mind red maple leaves being used for symbology. It's just that the particular symbol used was (likely literally) copy-pasted from the actual Flag of Canada, which is odd in an American town. The devs probably used the first Google search result for "Maple leaf", which is described by Wikipedia as "The maple leaf as it appears on the Flag of Canada"

Maine. Not only are the road signs American, but the map name includes the acronym "USA" in it.

I have to say, looking at the map further, it looks incredible. Really good work by the devs. Even the lobster traps are detailed.

The first thing to do is to disable any mods that may change the map, and restart. Then, if that doesn't work, download the game again.

In the states, if a maple leaf is used in any symbolism at all, it's either green or black. Red maple leaves are distinctly Canadian.

 

I also don't understand why it would be a maple Leaf in a town called Firwood. It should be a Pine tree or a Pine cone.

I still have the bug after doing what I was told to do these to disable my mods reinstall the game and make clear cache in the launch menu

 

I think in that case the problem is some sort of bug, and should be reported.

 

I really hate this personally, I always thought of East Coast as a really FPS friendly map, but as someone with a low-end PC I feel like BeamNG is becoming more and more unplayable unless you have a gaming PC. I've definitely got what you'd call an "average PC" and I can't run East Coast without getting 5 - 10 FPS. It's even laggier than West Coast, which I avoid playing because of the FPS. I hate updates like this, but do what you want with the map, though, I guess it is yours.

 

There shouldn't be any performance decrease. It should increase out of anything due to the new game engine optimisations.

Yea, that's almost certainly an issue on your end.

• Delete anything in Documents/BeamNG.drive/levels/east_coast_usa
• Clear cache
• Launch in Safe Mode

 

Eh did you forget they changed the entire map? I don't think that there's much I can do to stop it from lagging so much.

Following my instructions just ensures there are no old map edits or mod related issues decreasing performance.

Good for you, my FPS was cut in half.

 

I get 19 fps in the city with normal traffic on 2600X 4.2 1070 both OC. So it tanked for me too.

 

I still get nearly 70 FPS with a 2600 @3.4 GHz and a 1060 6GB so...
