    Heyyy,
going to cut it fairly short, I am looking for 5/6 Beam players who can successfully record and race/drive a lap of the 'automation test track'.

"Hell yeah i can do that" - Perfect you're the driver i need, but why you ask? I want to set up a little time trial race that all contestants may compete in. I thought considering I've spent a fair bit of time now actually driving around the track and becoming one with the mechanics in Beamng's driving environment, the AI just wont cut it. Therefor, a time-trail between 5 or 6 other 'IRL' players seems very appealing. If it sounds cool let me know, it might take a hot minute t actually set up everything and i plan to create a video that will be posted online that resembles a professional league racing event. Sounds fun? Hit me up, I think it could be pretty fun!

"Hell no, i can hardly even drive straight in beam" - that's fine, practice really does make perfect and it's hella hard in Beam, but if this is to become a conventional and real thing then there could be amateur league's to fight to the top! However, we are still post operational with this entire thing yet so it may be a while if at all. But the thought's there.

So yeah let me know if you're a good racer and you feel like you could set a decent lap record on that track -
It's also worth noting that the vehicle we will be using is the 'Hirochi Sunburst - Asphalt (Sequential) and drivers must, exaggerating the must there, drive in manual transmission, much more challenging and fun, one bad gear shift can change your time drastically.

Boom! I look forward to hearing back from a couple of people! Fingers crossed anyways.
    Thank you!

    Step 1. Buy BeamNG
Step 2. Play BeamNG for 20 hours driving only the Automation Test Track
Step 3. Create an account on the BeamNG forums
Step 4. Create your own "professionnal racing league" and challenge people to beat your time.
    Step 5. Success!

In all seriousness, I'd love to race agains people even though I can't take a corner properly. But you're gonna need to be more precise about the car and it's configuration that you want to use for that race, and the layout of the track. Then I'll enter your time-trial.

    Have a nice day!

Hey Lucas! Thank you for your response!
And I've been playing BeamNG for just a little over a year now, no it may not be nearly as long as the majority of people on the forums, however from absolutely bashing the game and long sessions, I feel as though I have essentially 'mastered' the mechanics and driving, I've been having lot's of fun being able to successful drift round corners and getting used to shifting down to second or first for tight/medium corners and then back up a gear to straighten off and still drive fast.
Things like this have enabled me to successfully drive terrain and tracks without crashing (finally) by doing corners at 50/60 mph.
Maybe it'd be wise of me to actually post a video of one of my laps on the forums so you can see for yourself as I really dont want to look like I'm all up my own alley trying to look like some "amazing driver" or whatever.
Either way, the only reason I've distinguished a specific car and track is so if I were to create a video, I can create it inspired from the "marble olympics" videos on YouTube and have it done in that format, it'd be a good tester.

Also the car used is not modified what so ever, I understand that everything to torque per gear can even be altered, but I feel it wouldn't be such a fair race with modifications aside from decal, the car I've chosen is a temporary option.

Thank you again for replying! I look forward to hearing back!

I like going fast in a straight line more than corners, but I'll see what I can do. I love this game+racing so I'm in.

You can race in BeamNG but it's not the best idea. If you want to do clean racing play rFactor or Assetto Corsa, banger race play Wreckfest, fly an aircraft play Flightgear, cruising play European/American Truck simulator. BeamNG is best at realistic and spectacular crashes.
The suspension is fragile and hit a curb will bent steering and you're done. There's no "reset & continue"button on time trials

There are six different circuit options for the Automation Test Track. Is it the Race Track Circuit you intend to use?

I doubt if I'll compete. I've only used automatic gearboxes in Beam so far, and I've never recorded anything (for any game!). I can at least try a few circuits and see how I get on, though.o_O

    Also, what time of day?

Yeah no BeamNG is such a great game for racing, I'm starting to think that not many people actually race, other than drag, on the game. But I'm telling you, if you practice the hell out of it, drifting round corners and racing tracks and even off-road rally, is so satisfying and fun!
Sounds great! I'd love to see what you got haha

Thank you for your respons! However I must say all of what you've said is exactly why it's fun, it's super realistic and racing is a challenge - here we go, that classic saying "do it because it's hard, not easy" or whatever - but yeah, I can do 3 laps at really fast speeds without crashing or hitting a curb and screwing my wheel alignment, it's just been a lot of practice and as I've said before, it is so so satisfying racing once you can! It's just practice and finding a method around how to go into drifts and get out of them, then you're laughing!
I have played some of those other title's and like I said it's just not BeamNG, when I race around in beam it feels great. So yeah!
Thank you again for your response! I look forward to hearing back

Go ahead and hit a curb in real life and see how "fragile" that gets ;)
Beam is not a crashing simulator, its more then just for crashing.
Beamng is best at simulating cars.
Of course if you want to hit a car at 200mph and still drive straight go play anything else but beamng. but as far as i know im here for the full vehicle simulation.

    I really like the idea.
ive been thinking about recording and doing some kind of race like this, but honestly with my laptop, gaming+recording is gonna make the game hard to play.
Is there a frame limit that the video can be? its probably gonna be laggy if i end up doing this.
to make it less laggy ill record my lap in beamng and then use a software to record beamng when its playing back my lap. hopefully that will give me a smoother video.

Hey Zarak82, cheers for responding and yes you're right and yes it would be on the Race Track Circuit, this is not set in stone of course, but would be good to start on!
Yeah give it a try! And I'd suggest getting used to manual gears, it's super easy to get a hang of ans you'll notice the difference I swear. After an hour or so of playing like that, you'll start to feel the corners hahaha.
I'd love to see how you get on!
    Thank you again!

Hey crashmaster! Thank you for your response! It's so great to hear from someone who agrees! Beam is such a great game for realistic driving I believe, haha I dont drive myself but my good friend Alex does and he drives a ford fiesta, which are pretty good when it comes to performance, at least on the streets, racing down roads and stuff with him and the fact that I've been in 3 accidents with him, 2 being from attempting to drift haha it's safe to say, beam is fairly realistic after all, especially with drifting.

Either way, thank you! And I dont think that has to be a problem to be fair, I'd hate for someone, especially now, who wants to be involved, to be restricted. So instead I'm sure we can figure something out, maybe if you were to record at 30fps if you can and that sounds like a really good idea! I mean just see how it goes! Why not! I'd love to see what you got! Haha
Thank you again! I'm sure we'll be in touch again.

Damn right! I've had a few prangs IRL , and been in one car to car crash, and I know it really doesn't take much to seriously damage a normal road car. That's one reason I like Beam.....you have to treat the cars with respect if you want to keep driving without resorting to a restart. It's a breath of fresh air after decades of games where you just bounce off other cars, and shove them out of the way in corners.

Hey there! I like your idea and I think I'm now good enough to set a decent time, I just need a little more practice around the last part of the track. My only problem would be uploading the video which would take me quite a lot of time because of my terrible upload speed.

I didn't mean beamng is not good or you can't race. It's good at racing but not 100% perfect(feel free to interpret it as 99%perfect;))
Racing Vehicles IRL use reinforced suspension that could take more beating before damage, especially in races that allow contact or rally. In Beam, you can only put race/rally springs/shocks/coilovers, the suspension stuctual strength is the same as everyday vehicles.

I do lots of racing in BeamNG because I don't have other racing games, usually end up resetting 100 times before setting a new record.
My best record is 09:15.076 at Pikes Peak in an RX-7 Panspeed

Another thing I noticed that (don't be mad at me if I'm wrong) the grip handling is a little bit strange. For example on some vehicle. You unintentionally oversteer it so you need to correct it via countersteer. However if you countersteer a little bit less than required, the car behaved just as if you didn't countersteer at all. If you countersteer a little bit more, it'll suddently fishtail to the other direction.

One interesting thing is (this might actually be realistic).

In this corner, the Covet can corner faster than the eSBR.

Oh man that's intense haha but yeah, I can imagine! I feel you on that! And exactly! I used to play dirt 3 thinking, wow I'm great at rally haha and then I got beam... haha it's so different but the reward for learning and practicing it is great! And it's rewarding when it goes wrong as it's spectacular.
    --- Post updated ---
Hey that's amazing! And of course practice all you can! It sounds like you've got the hang of things though which is great!
That's a shame, although maybe it'd be worth a try!? We'll see how it goes, I'll probably post an example of one of my laps and then see where we take things from there! But hang around! I'd love to count you in!
Thanks for your response! Be in touch soon!

I guess I could join. I already have a Youtube channel that I occasionally play BeamNG.drive on. I wish you would clarify what car to use and maybe create different classes to compete in. For example, my default LeGran is something I have tuned using only vanilla parts and I can drive it well. If there was a class system it could be like this:

A: Hillclimb and Race spec vehicles

B: >500hp and excluding the AB

C: >300hp and excluding the AB

D: unmodified normal cars/no sports or super cars

All vehicles run should only use upgrades found in the stock game, meaning no game mods. Anyways, that is just my opinion, feel free to do whatever you want to with this challenge. I look forward to participating!

Hey Harkin! that'd be awesome! i just checked it out, you seem like you're a really good beam driver! I'd love to have you involved.
In the initial post i think i wrote somewhere saying we'd be using the stock Hirochi Sunburst - Asphalt (Sequential) at least at first. Which is a super car yes, however i think that'd be a lot of fun - furthermore, we could have it in stages and use vehicles of different class in each stage, then at the end tally up all the lap times and the contender with the overall fastest time would be announced winner.
And of-course no mods nor car modifications aside from decal.
I shall post a video on this thread soon showing my kind of lap in the Hirochi Sunburst - Asphalt (Sequential) but i can use any other car to be honest, just need to get a feel for the car and then boom, hit the road jack.
so yeah I look forward to hearing back!

Hell yeah you are! sounds amazing! Nice, a new PC is always so much fun, congrats haha :D but yeah i'm uploading an example lap (not a very good one but it's an example) up onto youtube so people can see my kind of driving and then i'll have to start getting people into some sort of group chat or something idk, i'll need to layout the format of the video and get an editor to help me out too haha I think i should be alright with all that, it's just a case of making movements).
But yeah sounds perfect, amazing! so keep updated and do some practice laps or whatever, i'll sort something out so we can keep in touch in the meantime - also might be worth you 'subscribing' to my youtube channel just so i dont lose you and others competing in the race! And yesss i'll sub back ;) haha

Thank you for your response though! i'm excited to hear back!
