I wouldn't dismiss the infamous "list" completely, As the Ibishu Hopper was on the list & it made it in-game. So its not a stretch that some of the others may follow after the Wendover.
https://www.beamng.com/threads/development-media.24313/page-3#post-1036906 Was expecting another Bluebuck teaser...got something even better. Seriously, if ECA's coastal area's been updated this much, just imagine how much the town's been updated. It looks to me like we're at least getting a new coastal village (and some guardrails) on ECA, so even if the Bluebuck doesn't come out in 0.17, I'll still be happy to have an updated map. (and glad I didn't go too deep into Green Ghost of Firwood before the map update)
hopefully more offroading stuff, i live in an area similar to this map and in real life most of the trails are soft (but packed) sand or mud, that get really gross when it rains. it's also hard to go anywhere on those roads without encountering big mud obstacles that also fill with water when it rains. i'd also love to see some of the smoother dirt roads converted to more "foresty" roads, with rocks and logs and stuff in the narrow overgrown path. really happy to see the devs updating the older maps, not only in their content, but also in their textures. looking at a map like WCUSA and comparing it to ECUSA is like night/day, and it's insanely easy to pick out the newer map just from textures alone. nice new road texture in that teaser, along with the guardrails.
It's absolutely incredible, ECUSA is my fav map (cuz it's the only one i can play with 30FPS) and seeing this awesome map getting even better with that much improvement makes me so happy !
The new ECUSA looks absolutely breathtaking -and reminds me a bit of the map Altitude, which makes sense since IIRC DoullPepper is the one re-vamping all of the maps- but, most importantly, it looks realistic; having spent a good chunk of my life along the east, it's great to see such a map take great leaps and bounds to match its real-world counterpart (by the way, did anyone notice the new trees?)
Can someone please post some pics of the video feed on the refreshed ECUSA ... pretty much every video was not loading for me in the dev media thread. It would be much appreciated
Holy crap, that looks amazing. DoullPepper is doing such a good job revamping, it looks like a completely new map.
Thanks gdfastner for the pics. Wow...now thats BREATHTAKING! It looks like night and day between old and new. Love the details and what looks like an extra set of buildings there. Looking forward to further news!
It looks like that small blue house on the coast is being replaced by a small fishing operation. I hope the forest floor is more realistic as well.
One thing i'd like to see is a few buildings on the other side of the bridge that comes out of Firwood. It's odd to cross a bridge from a small town into pure wilderness.
It's likely that Gabester was referring to the Supercinq (Super 5), which is also often called the Renault 5 This car was released in 1984, falling more closely in line with the Covet. It also has a transverse engine, unlike the first generation of the Renault 5. Also, I don't know of such a thread. I think most of the information devs give about the future of the game is in blog posts, and replies in threads such as this one
ECUSA changes are more significant than I expected, I guess that's why we haven't heard much of them. I still really hope we see an abandoned race track (even if it's just the ticket booth), that's something really close to home as someone who lives in the Northeast Corridor. All across the country race tracks aren't doing so great, but we use to have so many up here and almost all of them have been abandoned. Plus, they just look cool. I doubt we will see it, but sticking an old parking lot and ticket booth in one of the many empty areas on that map would be easy. Also, some railroad tracks and a train station would really complete the small town Northeast Corridor feel, though I might just be saying this because I have an unhealthy addiction to trains =P I mentioned ages ago that a down tree would be a great way to close off exits to the map, instead of everything being a down bridge or construction site (Automation test track does have that landslide, but that's just one instance). I'm not sure how willing they are to make layout changes, but at least adding some would be map exits should be on the table so the maps don't feel like a hamster cage. --- Post updated --- Gabe described it as a hybrid 1960's Italian GT cars (I remember a specific Ferrari and Masserati models were given; I forgot which). It is a big niche we are missing, but years ago Gabe said he forgot about it and seemed to have no interest in restarting development. 800th page!
