I wouldn't quite say that. You could call a post dead for sure if the OP hasn't been on for ages. OP of this post, though, was on yesterday, and as long as he doesn't state this is dead, it isn't. He could very well be working behind the scenes.

I guess I should sort this out a little :p

I thought this thread would get buried, and because I didn't want to confuse people, I left this as 'WIP'. All I'll say is that this isn't 'WIP' any more and hasn't been for a very long time; I really only left it like this so that I didn't get backlash and/or disappoint too many people.

I won't disclose what I've been doing all this time, but I have indeed been doing other related work. Though I will say that it's been nothing to do with buses.

This bus may be re-done some day, but meanwhile, I've got other routes to be taking.

Well, after much thinking and a lot of discussion, I've completely re-thought my WIP situation. Behind the scenes lately, there have been many unfinished mish-mashes of cars that I've endeavored on, but they have all failed - and I've been drowned in unfinished WIPs!

I have decided to completely scrap all of these previous wastes of vehicles; ones which never ever got anywhere.

Me and my community have decided that it's best to revive some of my old, unfinished projects. To be honest, I completely forgot how good these old but gold mods were that I was making, and I just got caught in a mess of making new vehicles, instead of keeping on going with these old things...

.... and so, we're bringing some off the shelf - and this is one of those.

The Griffin Comet (in-game), as it was left in November 2018. (Screenshot taken at time of writing)

This bus was made in a time when I knew much less of how to properly make a mod for this game. Since then, the WIPs that actually have got me fairly far have taught me a lot, and I've learnt a thing or two along the way.
It makes much more sense to have this bus made very similarly to the Wentward; that is to say that all the unnecessary framework underneath is going out of the window. Besides a fair amount of the chassis, which is actually pretty decently done, the entire bus is going to be re-vamped completely from scratch.

Updates will arrive very soon. As ever, if you'd like to join in on the fun, the SlipStream's doors are always wide open!

Oh, and as for what other old vehicles we're digging up, you'll probably be able to guess :p

Just a quick update; I've decided to re-use but re-vamp the old model I had made for the bus, as almost everything was already done - I'm just converting it to work without the complicated and annoying under body frame, and instead making it more like the Wentward.

For the fun of it, I've also put back on the advert carriers that we had fun with before. Over on Discord, people are making all sorts of crazy stuff for these ads, the ones in the top two pictures being some of the old ones I made when the bus was first being done.
The bottom one is one that @Nekkit made :p

The UV templates are over on the server. They'll probably go on the forums too once the bus is close to being done.

I hope you're all not too alarmed, but I'm afraid this is a bit of an quick change of plan.

Yesterday, I was lent my first car/project from a family friend, down in southern England, who my parents have known for over 50 years.

It hasn't had much TLC in about 30 years, since he bought it in the mid 90s. He has had several examples of this car before this one, but this is the last and most special one he's had.

And... It's a very special car indeed!
    A40noplate.jpg
It is a 1960 Austin A-40 Deluxe, with 20,509 original miles on it. Under the bonnet, there's a 948cc version of the classic A-Series engine, pushing about 30hp to the rear wheels, through a 4-speed manual gearbox.

This car is going to be my full-time real-life project. As such, there will not be any work on any other vehicles until at least next year, and I cannot guarantee that any of the other vehicles will ever be finished.

The field of work I'm going into is pretty much the mechanical, do-it-yourself, hands-on side of the automotive industry. BeamNG is (well, was now) a proper full-time hobby for me, because I honestly had nothing better to do than go around, having fun, smashing things to bits.

But now I've got something meaningful to do, that I'm really happy about doing.

That being said, BeamNG is still going to remain a bit of occasional fun - and since I'm working on this car so deeply, and know such a wide range of tips and tricks about mod-making for Beam, it would be crazy not to have a go at something interesting...

So there will be one vehicle in the works - This car!
..which will be photoscanned in every which way possible, since this restoration is going to be pretty in-depth.

The end result will be a car as accurate as possible to the real thing, in every possible aspect.

So, keep your eye out for a thread labelled '1958-1967 Simpson Scamp' - its BeamNG-lore-name - in this category.

As a short disclaimer, I will say that I did not know I would have this car at the point of reviving this bus. If I did, I probably would've kept the bus dormant, with the rest of the mods, as I'm doing now.

But as of now, all of the cars, trucks and buses - except this (arguably) fabulous new Austin - are off the cards.

Again, I'm very sorry to all who were looking forward to any and all of the work-in-progress machines! But I have to admit, that even by itself, this car (at least to me) trumps the lot of them.
