    i would say that if he kept the wheelbase the same, but he actually shortened it, so its a hatch in my book now.

    ima do a sad tease.

    Ive been slowly working on this thing for months/years now.
    Im trying to get the jbeam right but im no engineer. i doubt ill be able to make it as well as i would want it.

    As of right now this thing has a solid rear diff and still has the independent barstow front suspension. i tried to add the pushbars but, PHYSICS..............
    Im lowkey giving up on this since i cant figure out how to make the physics right.
    Im thinking about scratching the new suspension jbeam and just keeping the old suspension that works well with the car. but i dont want a meshslap.
    I want the real front/rear pushrod suspension on this thing. not a solid rear diff and a front barstow suspension. its really pissing me off that i cant get the jbeam right.
    I dont know what to do anymore.

    The 3d model itself is taken from forza horizon 3, but ive remodelled a lot of it and im still not done. the rear needs a bit of love.
    In terms of progress id say front is 90% done. i just need to model the rear suspension/frame and the rear swaybar.
    I dont wanna give up on this since its one hell of an amazing car to drive. it has a realistic automation engine setup. with actually 1400hp.
    I added methanol for this car and its fully awd tuned as close to the real thing as possible.

    Im posting this here in the hopes that someone with jbeam talent can maybe help me get me unstuck with this project. motivation is at an all time low since everything i end up trying to do with the suspension jbeam ends up breaking it and making it worse.
    im able to jbeam literally anything else on the car, but when it has to do with the actual suspension. i cant get my hand on the right thing, i just havent been able to figure it out.
    Ive been trying to research suspension geometry stuff but im researching material density and mechanical geometry at this point. among-st other things which are far too complicated for me to even begin to understand.

    Please someone help. i dont want these hundreds of hours to go to waste cuz i cant get the jbeam right. and i refuse to release this as a half made meshslap. i want quality over quantity.

    Playing around with a custom powertain. This small thing has two motors and the throttle of it is related to the steering. It has no steering hydros and it doesn't brake the wheels. It just sends power to the right wheels when turning left etc.

    I used hinges as break groups because I wanted to get that 80s American bouncy suspension.
    I will put this my fullsize SQR mod.

    Holy hell that looks insane.

    First post: Properly made Fiesta XR2 with 72 likes on the post, a Dev quality finish and correct factory colours.

    Literally nobody

    Guy: makes a fake plane out of stolen content, which is kinda... well.... discouraged

    Other guy has a go at it making constructive criticism

    I know its not the place to talk about it, but seriously what is going on. I'm all for people trying to make mods and that, but this guy gets told great advice from people and he doesn't take any onboard, which is seen in his bad quality mods. I don't mind the whole using other models stuff, but they're too high poly, it's a mesh slap, same stuff which is on world of mods, and it is literally a rule on here that you can't upload stuff from WOM unless it's been edited and somewhat fixed and you certainly can't advertise WOM mods. Not saying this is WOM, but it's certainly similar quality.

    Give the guy an A for trying, but mods like the XR2 need to be encouraged more. I'd rather wait a year and a half for an amazing mod like Ninety Nines good stuff rather than have stuff like the Russian Plane. And ah, I made no discrimination against Russians I just said the copyright laws there mean nothing, which is probably why most of these mesh slaps are made by Russians.

    Back on topic, I look forward to trying out this mod, and making my own content soon. Seriously guys, instead of deleting these comments and hiding the elephant in the room, put that time and effort into simple tutorials that young people can follow to make proper content, weather it take them a month or a year and actually put this modding community on the map.

    I had an idea pop up the other day when looking at the sky when i was out driving. Clouds tend collect at the horizon, or rather we see them more collected due to perspective.
    I wondered if i could do that and keep the usual clouds moving. Had to test the idea, only had access to the Tech demo, but heres what i got (high res attached):



    The clouds on the horizon is one texture that i use the Basic Cloud item for. The texture is attached to the thread in the Content Creation subforum. The centre is completely transparent so that it will show the scatter sky im using, If i had the time id fix a better texture with just horizon clouds in a circle.

    Now, the Basic Clouds arent effected by TOD so thats abit sad but still, pretty neat IMO. The effects might be achieveable in some other way but just wanted to test the thought that popped up.

    Why not release it, it looks really good.
    (not trying to push you or anything, honestly just wondering)

    So, I have been messing with tiling my big island terrain (it's going to be around 30x30 kms). I know there is no collision, and the tiles are not seamless, but I am thinking of releasing this map when I finish all the tiles, as a map for flying around and also see where the tiling limitation goes.

    Build quality is quite monotonus at the moment, but I am working on it.
