License plate locked to steam name?

My steam name is Adam the Fennekin, and I'm trying to get my plate to say "Bunnyfox"- but every time I restart the game or a new map the license plate automatically changes back to my Steam name and it's rather unpleasant. Does anyone know how to fix this, or if this is an actual bug?
