Hello, I am looking for someone who knows how to texture that can help me fix a few problems with a mod I won't say which as it does not belong to me. It has missing broken glass textures and I would like a vinyl top. Because this mod does not belong to me and has not been publicly released, I am looking for someone that is trusted throughout the forums to make sure that this does not get reuploaded. I am doing my very best to keep my word of not reuploading this mod anywhere. I know this seems a little secretive because I will not tell which mod it is, but I am trying not to have it anywhere but private disscusions and don't want hundreds of people asking for it. Thank you for understanding. If you fit the kind of person I am looking for, please PM me so that I can share the mod. Thank you.

Hi, your signature says you're working on a Dodge Challenger.. just kidding :)
Does the glass happen to appear with those strange black spikes in them ? That's how I recently finally learned how
to uv-map textures, cause THAT would be the problem.

No unfortunately I think that the challenger has died. The modeling guy hasn’t responded to any of my messages. But no the glass is not spiky it just has the bright orange no texture. I don’t know anything about textures or I would do it myself.

Oh, in that case it could be just a texture file missing or named incorrectly ? Also note that there's two types of orange 'replacement'
in the game : 'no texture' and 'no material'
Maybe you already know that but anyway, in case of latter the reason could also be material related.

I do remember this. I know that it is the no texture. Problem is I don’t know what is missing or named improperly.

Alright, do you know how to read the material.cs file ? Cause the material directs to the texture file. Then you can see if the texture file
is at the location that its directed to and you can inspect it too with paint.net or photoshop or another program..
You may PM if you really are stuck, I can always take a look at it. :)

Thank you. I may do so since I am not very experienced with that.

Ok, I looked at your mod and if you don't mind I will communicate some of the 'none secretly' stuff about in here so that
the community also has use of this thread, ok? :)

So, your mod is based on the Moonhawk. At first it wouldn't spawn at all on my computer and it gave me the Pickup truck.
The reason for that was because the 'moonhawk_differential_R' jbeam file is not working correctly. The Moonhawk itself ( I checked )
has no separate differential jbeam file. Are you modding this one yourself ? Anyway, after removing the file the rest of the car
spawns without major problems what concerns textures. Of course it's not driving in this state cause something is wrong with
the diff. But the windows are all working just fine as you can see in the screen capture I send you.

Is it working on your side too ?

It works if you mean spawns in, but it doesn't drive anymore. My only issue at the moment was the missing texture when the car was crashed. I am not modding this myself as I don't know anything about modding.

Ok I forgot one more thing to ask : did you use the mod before the game's 0.16 update ? Are you using 0.16 as of now cause
I myself am still on 0.15.0.3 . I have a bit of complexity in my personal mods and I'm still preparing for the switch. This might be a
reason for the differential jbeam not loading properly in 0.15.03 . I also have no sound on the mod. I'll go and see now what happens
    if I break the glass.

update : hope to find out soon if you are running 0.15 or 0.16 :) because I'm still looking to find the the
cause of MATERIAL loss and not TEXTURE loss

I'm not to the bottom of this yet but I think the problem lies in the following :
    - Your mod has no 3d model for a damaged windshield in its files.
    - The modder of your mod has changed every moonhawk jbeam name (+ many parts) to moonhawk2.
    example : moonhawk_glass.jbeam to moonhawk2_glass.jbeam
In the moonhawk2_glass.jbeam are also (deformation) references to 3d models such as moonhawk_windshield_dmg wich is the 3d model for a damaged windshield. Also this file was changed
    to moonhawk2_windshield_dmg.
    -
But the mod doesn't contain the collada for the damaged windshield in the first place.

Conclusion : the mod is incomplete and could never have presented a broken windshield texture based
    on its current state.

I'll give it some more attempts to see if I can get it going when I've got time for it. I mean between now
and the next hours and days so that you know I'm looking into it. If I give up I will post. :)

update : Seems to be working now since I put the 3d model for the damaged windshield among the
car's files after editing object name and file name. Also adapted some material names in
the materials .cs file. It's just a result of 'raging thru the files to make them work asap' so
the result isn't that elegant as it could be but for now at least you should be able to drive
and crash around without annoying 'orange panels' popping up. :)

update : a little refined and the rest of the windows work too now :)
