Hello there! As the wooden crate and planks were removed in 0.16 for some unknown reason, I fired up the A Rocky Start campaign to see what happened to the wooden crate in the delivery mission today... (This one, to be exact) - and I wasn't really surprised when I saw this on top of the trailer I was supposed to tow...: So yeah, the crate is just automatically replaced with the standard D-Series... I mean, it's still totally possible to finish the mission, but I'm 99% sure that it is not intended like this. (I took the all asphalt route by the way) Additionally, the cutscenes look a bit weird now, I don't know if this was like this before 0.16 but it definitely wasn't there from the beginning: You can clearly see the polygons I guess? But overall I have to say that this campaign now really looks very much career-like, very nice! Again, don't know if it was changed in this update or if I just haven't noticed it before, but either way, I like it very much! I will check with safe mode enabled in a few minutes if the issue with the cutscenes persists. Interesting that nobody has either bothered to write about the changes in the Rocky Start campaign or that I'm the first one to have checked the campaigns after the update... UPDATE: Well, I have checked it with safe mode now, but the issue with the cutscenes still persists. They also lag quite a bit and are cut off at the top and the bottom (black stripe), can be seen in my screenshot of the cutscene. (They are really cut off, as there is one scene where one speech bubble is not visible).
That is one of the many reasons why I'm still running customized Windows 8.1 even this too is sometimes bit too automatic, no matter that everything automatic is turned off, still sometimes things happen.
Another small thing, but mud ground models have loud sounds like metal on concrete when driving through them (i assume the sounds are different for the ground model they use)
Your metal wheels are rubbing the ground (mud) so it makes sound, which probably is bit WIP right now.
I'm still having "GPU stopped responding" crashes, although less frequently. 2x980Ti (SLi disabled, Optimize for compute enabled). These settings were in place before 0.16 and are not negotiable. Monitor is 1440. Driver 430.64 and the previously suggested hotfix did not resolve the problem. Other things tried: Enabling/disabling UI acceleration Reducing max UI res to the standard 1080 Clearing cache and wiping the Documents\BeamNG folder (reduced the frequency of the error) Checking game integrity from the launcher and from Steam Safe mode Deleting Documents\BeamNG and Uninstalling/reinstalling from Steam The problem tends to occur when: Loading some maps (Grid Map is stable, Italy is almost stable, WCUSA crashes at startup) Changing camera angle in some maps Loading vehicles (seems quite random) I'm open to suggestions.
Press "ALT+U" when you want to take a screenshot to remove the UI. As for the trash bin...that's actually a cleverly disguised bush. Windows has been a pain in the rear since they went to 8. It's been non-stop spamming of updates that more often than not cause problems for one thing or another. It's getting to the point that my next computer is going to a custom one, even though I'm not entirely sure if I want to take that route. (Not to mention, even a cheap one is more expensive than Windows at the moment...uggh...)
I had this happen to me today for the first time... Thought it was my GPU overclock (as I did that today also), so I didn't think much about it. It just happened out of the blue, when I was changing parts on the D-Series
The engine for the Herochi Sunburst seems to not be attached well enough. It will often pop out the next to wheel seemingly connected to a single point and occasionally launch itself a fair distance when hitting something like a tree at about 70~ MPH. It is fun to try launch it at other cars though, so there's that.
Nothing had to happen, its just added as a warning because there is a possibility of flashing images and the like. Pretty much every game in the world has similar messages somewhere.
Hey guys, I was crashing the Grand Marshal today, and I noticed that it is significantly weaker than previous versions, its getting way too much damage at low speeds. Here's a crash I did with the Covet and the Grand Marshal, the Covet got obliterated, that is to be expected, but the Grand Marshal got lots of damage too. Each car was around 50mph It may be just me, but the Covet got almost the same damage as the Grand Marshal, which is not what I remember seeing in previous versions. Someone go in BeamNG and crash the Grand Marshal at like 40mph into a wall and see the damage Maybe its supposed to be this way but idk...
That's what I thought, most games have them. I found it odd that it was added this late, so I was wondering if something they did/added made them aware of the issue.
i am now at page 26 of this thread, and wanted to know if the menu is still laggy for everyone? like you can turn off GPU acceleration/rendering and that way it is playable since the menu renders at 5 FPS but with it "ON" it renders at 0.00000001 FPS (probably lower since the PC freezes almost.) i may not have a monster of a PC but maybe bringing the v0.15 UI might fix that since it ran at 60 FPS? i have a Intel i3 8100 CPU,with 32GB of RAM and a Nvidia 1050Ti GPU, like i said not a beast but this game was made almost 10 years ago in 2011 - 2012 so my rig should be overkill for it! (i mean it is not like the menu is folding proteins, it is just text and gfx and a video in the background... that should only take about 20% of the CPU like Youtube in FireFox running 2 or 3 videos... assuming 1 video takes about 8%) anyhow i am posting here cause i have encountered a bit of a bug... right now while the GPU rendering is off in the settings, while i was modding my car going in and out of the game, it now lags to the point of freezing the menu when starting the game as if the GPU rendering is on so... is there a way to downgrade the game to v0.15? (i can just save the new cars and maps and add them as mods anyways and profit of the v0.15 UI) also from what i read, the old UI had problems for AMD cards and was fine for Nvidia... tho i have a Nvidia... so does any one have the ability to run the Menu normally? (cause it appears to me that no one would be able to run the menu if AMD had the problem and i have it using a Nvidia... Intel?) EDIT: about that last bug, while i wrote this, it stopped loading like GPU rendering was on even if it was off. (i mean it loaded in software rendering like it normally did... i guess the time i spent writing, the RAM must of dumped the DATA and had to read it from the harddrive again... like maybe my RAM that had the files Cached was corrupted...)
Also find that it's a bit silly having the videos not hardware decoded when you turn gpu acceleration off... c'mon every gpu ought to be able to decode a 1080p x264 video
I think you have bit of misconception about age of this game, for every update this game is made so this is less than 2 weeks old and one of the heaviest games to run that you can find. In 0.15 UI did run something like 25fps. For testing purposes I have put 1050Ti in my setup and I have run CPU 3Ghz speed and even much lower without GPU accelerated UI having any issues at all, also I have tested running in 3840x1080 resolution with heaviest graphics options and sure UI becomes slow when there is about 20fps, but nothing that would not be excepted as when GPU runs at 100% load there will be delays. Running normal graphics setting vsync on, no ssao or reflections and 1080p resolution which is pretty much best 1050Ti can do without chocking UI works just fine. My 1050Ti is 4Gb version, not sure if yours is 2Gb or 4Gb version, another difference is that I have Win 8.1 with Nvidia driver 416.34, some of such difference might be reason, or then some 3rd party software in your system is interfering with the UI process. So to get issue your computer is having with UI sorted out, it would require to find out why issue is happening in 1st place as for most that is not happening and at least I haven't found a way to make issue to happen even I have spend quite bit of time to find out why such slowdown happens. There needs to be a reason for it to happen and that reason needs to be isolated so it can be found out what it is in order for anyone being able to tell how to fix the issue. To start figuring out, it would be good to do clean reinstall (do all steps https://wiki.beamng.com/BeamNG_FAQ#How_do_I_perform_a_clean_reinstall.3F) and no mods at all, using default D15 on gridmap with normal graphics preset check if slow UI still happens, if it does happen, then post screenshot of what performance app is showing (you need to enable advanced functions from game options), also press ctrl+f to bring up in game fps counter that shows wait for GPU: Hover mouse over top and bottom graphs, so you need to take two screenshots, in above screenshot I set CPU to run at 2Ghz for example. I had also vsync off in that screenshot and GPU accelerated UI was on, there was no slowdown of UI. There probably is not going to be straight answers, but likely more questions and tests that needs to be done to understand better why such slowdown is happening on your system.
Same happend to me when i spawned the crate i got a D series instead..But why was it removed? i think the crates should be added back in 0.16.2..Because of the Campaign featuring them. PS: Or released as a mod.
Maybe that's my graphical settings but sport wheels of 15x8 steels and 15x9 classic steels (I didn't try others but 15x7's are normal) look like they're racing slicks or old wheels
