Not let but doing a "fuck making money" kinda of approach in the business world is not the greatest idea.
On their website it says 10,000 Nm of wheel torque. Correct me if I'm wrong, but i believe that about 7,300 lb-ft. Whatever, i might be wrong lol.
I didn't do the calculation but I believe that conversion is correct. Their website does indeed state that figure, along with a 250mph top speed. That is very close to 2005 Veyron speeds. (Interesting that it has the same top speed and model year as the Aston Martin Valkyrie V12 hybrid track edition. Of course that thin costs $3.2 million compared to $200k for the Tesla) Google said its 300ft-lb, which is low (top spec model S has just under 700ft-lb)
I think you're missing the point somewhat: the appeal of the tesla is that it's brutally fast, has enough torque to take the earth out of its orbit, and offers simple styling that won't look outdated in 5 years. Nobody is pretending this is an eco-friendly car; in fact, it would be more envoirmentally friendly to just buy a used diesel pickup truck and drive it till it breaks than it would be to manufacture a brand new tesla
The biggest problem with Tesla is that they make eletric cars, which where I live make no sense because what you don't pay for gas, you'll pay in taxes and electricity bills. We also lack Tesla's superchargers around here, so to get any sort of charge you'd have to plug it in for the entire night, which is something I personally don't need, seeing as I drive a shitload of miles in a day. Also, another big problem is that the semi is a one-seater from what I've seen on their website. Lonelyness can make people go nuts. Other than that, they look like they're out of a videogame set in the future, those cars would fit very nicely in something like Halo, or Agents of Mayhem. Hell, you could probably mod these cars in those games and nobody would be any the wiser. Long story short, if I had the money and if this country had the means to keep an eletric car running in a somewhat sensible way, I'd probably buy one. Probably.
and by the time bankruptcy may hit his horizon he's already made an evident impact to the car markets of today. A lot of these ICE vehicle bans starting at the year 20xx that many countries have put into place are likely to have been triggered somewhat by the fact that Tesla exists. Tesla proved that EVs are perfectly possibly and can be economical (once our shitty battery technology catches up) which i'm sure has made a difference.
Tesla is a result of the EV craze, not the cause. I don't think an expensive toy for rich people that can barely compete with 500€ ICE beaters in practicality could even change something.
