Dont get a 4770k/770. Get a 4670k and a 780. Much better performance, at almost the same price! Unless you are doing something that needs the hyper threading.

Sounds pretty much like my rig (bought a few months ago). my advise to anyone upgrading, is get the best cpu/ram/video you can afford and don't worry as much about the rest.

I've said it before and I've said it again, Core i7 is overkill for gaming. You'd be better off with an i5-4670 or i5-4670K and a 780ti.

for most games, yes, for beamng, no, beamng can and WILL use all the powers of the i7, as it's 1 car per core, so beamng will take use of that hyperthreading (meaning you can have even more vehicles at once)

So you're suggesting that an i7 for one game is worth it? That's $100 that could be put towards a much more powerful 780 Ti

You'll be just fine with a good i5 for Drive. Especially with the update bringing much improved performance.

I'm not an expert on the Intel i3/i5/i7 CPUs but I recommend one of the i5s suggested above, 8GB of good RAM, (Maybe leave room for expansion if you ever want 16GB) and a GTX 780.

    This.

The i5 is a better deal than the i7 because most games won't use the extra cores from the i7. If your computing is going to be mostly for gaming (and nothing as intensive as exporting videos, running virtual machines, etc) then the i5 is plenty.
