Okay. So, in the tech demo, I could use the low-quality (as opposed to lowest) lighting without too much frame lag. I assume that this is because it used the CPU instead of the GPU. But now, I am stuck with lowest-quality lighting, because I have a crap GPU. My question is, can I make it so that BeamNG will use the CPU for all lighting quality levels? Or is the frame drop because of something else, and if so, can I fix it? Thx!
You can't divvy up graphics parts to different GPUs at the moment as far as I'm aware, let alone to the CPU. You could probably have low settings in the tech demo due to the map you use in the tech demo being so plain, the maps with the full game (with foliage and other objects) are going to be more demanding and will require more power, or lower graphics settings. What are your specs if you don't mind me asking?
Bad. Very bad, but I will be building a gaming rig in a few years, when CPUs and GPUs are more powerful. Windows 7 x64 with 4GB ram, Core I5-2410M @2.30GHz. Intel HD Graphics. Oh, and the intake fan's jammed.
Yes, but in a few years, they will be able to handle 10 Gavril T's and maybe a few Pigeons to go with them.
Try to fix your intake fan cuz beamng is known as a strong cpu demanding game ,so it's not just your gpu [like me for example : I have the R9 290x and the game lags at some crashes and when installing multiple cars //running everything on ultra//] Fixing your fan will allow your cpu to boost up at high frequency without heating up so much
My school does have a hackerspace type thing with a 3-D printer... Maybe I could make custom cooling bits!
