Everything on the wiki is more or less up to date. Where did you find that code? The gearbox should be separate from the engine code.
Hello guys, I am new to modding and I think that I messed up something. My problem starts at the texture Part. I am able to select the car from the Menu and it will show up but after the Texture Baking part it wont show up. If I press ctrl. it will show the structure but not the skin etc. Could anyone help me? (Sorry for my bad grammer) --- Post updated --- Okay I looked in the console and foundout that "Reference nodes missing. Please add them" and "Failed to get render mesh rug_body" What am I supposed to do?
Well... I don't want to be that guy, but we have to start with what info I have. Assuming you were following the tutorial to the letter, did you name your file rug_body, or did you name it tug_body. We just need clarification on that one as one messed up letter could definitely do it. Also, even without a .material file, or your actual texture, the model should still render... it's just that it would show up with that generic orange "missing texture" texture, so something else might be at play here.
Hey, first of all thank you for your quick answer! i really appreciate it! The problem was inside the .cs file. I saved it in Blender as "cube" so it has to be "Map to=cube" I now got the car in game with the "missing texture" Skin. I tried to go on with the tutorial but I am having issues again. How exactly am I supossed to do the Axles part? Should I add a new Plane object an merge them to the body? Could you send me like a step by step tutorial with screenshots? I am sorry if it is too much to ask for! Once again thank you for your quick Help!
Well, the way I do it, and the way they do it in the tutorial is to create a seperate mesh object from your main body structure... If you do it all in the same model you will end up changing all the node numbers around, and in doing that, the part will not be separable from the main body. (well... not without a lot of work they won't be anyways) Once you create and export your axles, you can continue to follow the tutorial as it is still up to date enough to work. If you have any more issues I can still try to help. I would leave more help right now but I am currently at work so I am just going off of memory right now.
