Anyone else into radio controlled monster trucks or cars? I got three at the moment. A Traxxas Stampede 2wd, a Stampede 4wd brushless, and an Arrma Granite 4x4 BLX 3s. Anyone built their own scale monster truck?

I have a stampede 4x4 VXL with the bigfoot 1 body, a SCX10 and working on a 3D printed one from thingiverse, upgraded with a 3D printed king cab body, springs and clod tires
No but I own a 2wd volcano EPX that blew a tire because it is 90% upgrades and 2 Redcatt calderas that go 25 miles per our. They pull a wheelie at that speed.
I have an ECX barrage (1/12+4wd+nimh), an ECX torment (1/10+2wd+brushless+lipo), a WLtoys buggy (1/10+4wd+brushed+nimh) a ECX roost (1/24+4wd+brushed+nimh), and a Redcat Racing Volcano EXP pro (1/10+4wd+brushless+lipo).
Can you post a pic of your SCX10 with the clod tires? I wanna do that too, just not sure which Axial truck to use as a base? I just got my Clodbuster in the mail today but I think I'm gonna ship it back, I feel it's too ancient without tons of upgrades so I'd rather just buy an Axial and give it a MT treatment and get it like the ones that compete on Trigger King. --- Post updated --- I want to build a truck similar to yours. Not on my scx 10, going on the 3d printed truck, that gives me a good idea for a good old school truck though they do sell parts to fit clod tires on scx chassis. Its a plate that goes on the side of the frame and new links go to it, you also need longer shocks, metal servo, and metal drive-train
I have no way of printing anything so I'm looking at buying something an upgrading. I was gonna do the whole Jconcepts MT conversion thing on my Stampede 4x4, even bought the parts, MIP x-duty driveshafts, and the big tires but I'm thinking it's not worth it now. I should just concentrate on building up a proper solid axle rig.
I dug some pics off my phone you don't have to print anything I forgot who makes them but they are aluminum plates that go on the sides, RCCaraction also just did an article on upgrading an smt10, that's worth a read.
Huge post incoming For thous asking about my trucks, The SUD body is a traxxas, which is impossible to find anymore, The SUD chassis is a Tube frame I welded and built, the Transmission and axles are both HPI wheely king. The Bigfoot is a Kyosho Mad Crusher, with the main mods being, Monster tires, and a Cradle drop I made from sheet aluminum. Same with the Macho man, just it started as a Mad Force. As far as building a solid axle truck like mine, It really depends on how much you want to spend, The cheapest option is an HPI Wheely King, It is pretty scale and fun, downside is that is it 1/12 scale, so a hair smaller than a clod and SMT10, but with a longer wheelbase and bigger tires you can convert it to 1/10. Another disadvantage, is that bone stock its pretty slow, (still faster then a stock SMT10) and if your going for crazy power your going to have to upgrade the gears. The SMT10 is a great base for a truck, with the scale chassis and all, but nowdays they are hard to find and are pretty expencive. stock they are very slow, but can be fixed with a new motor, BUT if your going for crazy power, your going to need new trans and diff gears. Also the stock tires are too small for a 1/10 truck, your gonna need Clod sized tires. The Kyosho Mad Crusher is a great truck stock, very fast, strong axles, pretty good suspension, great transmission and electronics, Downside of it, is that the stock tires are too small for a 1/10 truck, and worst part is finding rims for clod tires. I myself 3D modeled a set and 3D printed adapters to run clod buster tires and rims. The price tag is higher then the SMT10, but with the super strong axles and the great electronics, I think it makes up for it. As far as Clod based trucks, They are generally the best performance wise, but very expensive. There not the most scale due to the Motor on axle design, but are very durable and handle great for racing. Because The motor on axle, you need to run 2 motors, and 2 esc's if brush-less, and that can get very expensive. For a set of axles, your looking at 100 bucks minimum, for a set of used axles. A stock clod is just like a Leafer, and that's what it was meant to be, being designed in 1987. For a stock clod your looking at 420 ish bucks. Overall, WheelyKing, Cheap (under $300) but could use upgrades for a true 1/10 truck. SMT10, around $330 if you can find one, Could use better tires and faster motor. Kyosho around $490, Very fast, pretty strong, Could use Monster truck tires if you want. Clod Race truck, Anywhere from 400-900, Can be Very strong and very fast, but not the most scale
Thanks for the info. I was actually looking at one of the other Axial trucks as a base. I've seen monster trucks being made out of the Wraith, the SCX-10 2, and the Deadbolt. I'm particularly looking at the SCX-10 2 builders kit for $200, comes with everything but tires and motor/esc. I've got the tires now, I just need a good motor/esc combo,, preferably something in the 1/8th scale range.
I've been reading around and am getting interested in the Mad Crusher. They say it has the strongest stock axles of any truck, but from what I gather it's a 1/8th vehicle, not 1/10?
The Mad Crusher is technically 1/8 scale, but more of a 1/8 trail truck, The wheelbase is the same as an SMT10, The stock tires are around the same height as Clod tires, but half the width, I've converted mine to a 1/10 Monster truck. simply by Changing the tires and body (even though I still run the stock body, painted to look like Bigfoot)
