Since we already had vehicle suggestions, i thought why not about feature suggestions, it might give Devs more ideas to implement in future! Rules: 1. No vehicle suggestions here, it already has it's own thread. 2. Be nice to each other, no flamewars. I will start with mine! I always wanted to see animated wipers and animated particles in game. It would give more immersion and realism to it. Another thing would be better car sounds, since most of the cars sound same and the sounds don't fit them well( i.e T-series and piccolina sounds don't suit to them, as well as sunburst i4 sound which sounds too raspy and old for such modern car).
I would like to see interiors that significantly change with different trim levels, like on the Piccolina.
Meanwhile i think piccolina's interior is period correct, getting less features for lower trims on cars would be great addition to realism( i.e a/c on higher trim models, roll down windows) etc.
Some relatively small and easy to implement things: -Online leaderboards made as well as they are in LFS -Tire wear and temp -T Series to have actual truck engine sound like it used to have gets carried away a little.... -Dedicated race tracks, preferrably laser scanned real world ones (I know, not going to happen) -Competitive AI that can do clean racing -BeamNG getting race sim package, which makes it fully blown racing sim like Raceroom and alike. -Real world licensed race cars -Online mode for racing purposes -Cockpit operated things, brake balance, TC modes, turbo pressure etc etc. Perhaps I got bit too carried away, but I could pay per track and car for such, I would even pay monthly subscription for such, here take my 20 euros per month
Since we already have racing tracks and senario system, i don't see reason why they wouln't add a leaderboard for racing. It would also add some rivalry between players and make game more enjoyable.
Features that I'd want to see? Hmm... - Automatic Trans thermals - Tire thermals - cotris - static (ground, solid rocks and so on) interaction - yay rock sliders! - Ability to create dynamic map segments that aren't necessarily Jbeamed ( Railroad gates, or switches... basically non jbeamed, less performance intensive and easier to handle moving colidable objects - More engine sound customization from jbeam files, like ability to mix multiple sounds, for example remove the "scream" from V10 sounds or mix piccolina iddle with V8_2 sounds. (I know that most likely it isn't going to happen) -improved/ more realistic fuel consumption, as well as new trip computer app which doesn't calculate fuel consumption under 30km/h (like a lot of real life cars). right now on some cars fuel consumption seems weird, as a manual covet DXI averages 6-6.3L/100km at 100km/h over 1 km distance on grid small pure (using gentle throttle application with g27 pedals) - Wiki that would actually be updated with each bigger update ( often I am having to resolve to looking through lua files to find how newly added features work) P.S. What do IntakeMuffling and ExhaustMuffling parameters do to the sounds? I tried placing them in the code with various variables and haven't noticed anything. - 5.1 audio support (sorry if it is already implemented and it just doesn't work with my ancient setup.
Oh it will be just one long afternoon, I'm confident in your and team's abilities to achieve this minor and small feature list There is slight chance that I might be slightly joking of course
Import DAE (or FBX) animated mesh and parent to vehicle in World Editor Big Bonus if the animated mesh can preserve animated morphs Control softness of in-game shadows (for an overcast/cloudy day, for example) More sky options True "night mode" with correct ambient lighting Dynamic traffic Not sure if this available but ease in/out of camera movement and camera motion recording I am hoping the parenting of animated meshes to the vehicle is a low hanging fruit for the devs. I am a fool whose money can be easily parted.
I’ve been thinking about this for a while. I think it would be cool if the start stop button would change from a button to a key turning for older vehicles. I’m not sure how to do this, make a new texture I suppose, and find some way to assign it to certain vehicles. Kind of like how the differential or wheel lock disappear if the vehicle doesn’t have them.
Pretty sure I heard this somewhere. With Virtua Racing (SEGA), they actually patented cameras like that. If it wasn't patented, you'd see every game using that.
I'd kind of like the ability to refill fluids without resetting the vehicle. Say if I've emptied the fuel tank - I'd like to be able to press a button and get whatever I'm driving refilled so that I can continue onward. Or more pertinently, if I've busted the radiator wide open, I'd like to be able to simulate throwing a couple of gallons of water into the leaky thing, just so I can see how far I can limp whatever wreck I've ruined.
Not exactly sure. I think I heard it on a video and it sounded believable, but I can't find anything but this thread online http://www.nintendolife.com/news/20...do_defeat_one_of_segas_most_ludicrous_patents
Oh wow. There are certainly some ludicrous patents out there stifling creative innovation. I get the importance of patents but some are just greedy pencil pushers.
Probably been mentioned a lot but one thing I would love is windshield wipers. Anyone know if there’s a reason they can’t be added? I know there was a mod that did it once.
What about simulating the way older headlights turn on/off in real life? Right now, the halogen lights in-game lights work as fast as LEDs, becoming bright in an instant. I think this would bring a lot of life into many older cars that we see in-game right now.
as a racing and drifting fan, i'd love to see tire thermals and wear get added into the game. we already have brake thermals, so it seems a bit strange not having tire temperatures. i understand that this is not as easy as we may think, but i seriously hope it's being worked on. i'd also love to see some improvements in the way tires behave in certain groundmodels, particularly gravel and mud. seconding @fufsgfen i wish we had on-the-fly brake balance adjustments (as well as other similar adjustments), and just more keybindings in general (like ignition switch buttons, some separate on/off buttons for headlights and stuff (rather than toggles.), and maybe even adjustable mirrors). oh, and one last thing; i very much hope to see VR support in the future, however distant that may be. i may not have a VR setup as of yet, but i could at least appreciate the immersion from youtube videos.
YES! This could pave the way for more detailed endurance racing, but of course there's the problem of implementing a wheel change mechanic...
