This is the official discussion thread for my ETK800 Hybrid mod. For those unfamiliar with the mod, I have created a fully functioning ICE/electric hybrid system for BeamNG that I have fitted to both the Citybus and the ETK856 hatchback. The hybrid system features a duel-fuel (gasoline/diesel plus electricity), dual-source-of-power drivetrain with a custom eCVT transmission, as well as working engine start/stop behavior as one would find on a real hybrid. The inner workings of this system can be found at my overview thread. This thread serves as a discussion board for the hybrid ETK800 and my hybrid system in general, as well as to report issues people find when using my mod. When reporting issues/bugs/crashes: Please include your game version (from the main menu), the mod version, and how you installed the mod (subscribed in-game or manually downloaded) as well as any and all details pertaining to the issue.
I'm on game version 0.14.0.1 and every once in a while I try to shift +e and e modes don't work do you have any suggestions on how to fix it? I'm on ekt800_hybrid12.zip
I can't think of any reason why EV mode (E) wouldn't work, but Charge mode (Shift E) can only be started while in Park. EV mode also overrides charge mode. I'll probably update the hybrid UI app to show these modes at some point.
What specifically do you mean by "isn't working"? Are all of your mods (and game) up to date? L is to enable regenerative braking by simply letting up on the gas, as opposed to having to press the brake pedal
Yep! Makes "one pedal driving" somewhat possible. My Volt behaves the same way...I can slow down to about 3 MPH without touching the brakes at all.
This mod is amazing! I have other ETK800 models and yet this mod works with all of them It's quite awesome but there is a small issue with this mod which makes me not want to use it as much. That issue is the lack of grip around corners, the car always just wants to spin out on every single corner I take no matter how small and this even happens on a slow 2L diesel engine using the standard hybrid transmission. If this issue was sorted I would love it so much I'd have to use it all the time.

Hi, I tried the latest version of your mod, I'll give you a summary of my opinion on it. I found that the electric part of the traction is much less present than the old version. The engine regularly shuts down below 40% of the battery while above it remains running. (In other words, to be able to drive all electric at low speed, the battery must be below 40%, strange). In addition, when the maximum speed of the car is reached and the battery reaches 100%, the vehicle's speed decreases until it stabilizes. (Try it on a long straight line). Now on the positive side, the engine speed with the new version is much more stable and no longer gets carried away in rpm! The electric thrust is more realistic and smooth. Otherwise the mod is very pleasant. I've tested it in every nook and cranny. The hybrid UI works without any problems. Finally, the vehicle's fuel consumption is much more efficient. That was my opinion, you may or may not know about it. That's your mod. Coordially.
That's pretty strange behavior with the batter and the engine shutting off...it should be the opposite of that. The power threshold that kicks in the engine is much lower with a low battery than a full one. Would you be able to capture a video of what it's doing? I'll definitely look into the full battery issue on long stretches....I haven't done any super long straight drives yet. Ideally the batter shouldn't really recharge at high speeds like it does...it's a function of the main drive motor hitting its torque limit. I'll probably have to play with some curves to get that working better
I looked with the debug, there is no bug when the engine stops, your mod just takes into account the engine temperature and if it's not hot it doesn't stop! So no problem!
Ah, that'd do it! I normally have my game set to start with a pre-warmed engine so I always forget that I put that check in the code
Played with the ETK 800 Hybrid & the bus. Even though it's "just" an engine mod, I had a lot of fun driving them both. Love seeing how the battery recharges while driving downhill or how much power I use at that moment. It's definitely one of the more fun mods I've tried. But I had one problem with the ETK 800, though. I've accidentally bumped into a wall & the front of the car started to catch fire for some reason Don't know if it was a mod related issue, or a stock BeamNG car issue, but it happened
Love the mod, but guys you all keep talking about battery charging, where can I see bateery chartge %, whch UI app is that, or is it just fuel?

That could definitely be done with a JBeam file addition, although it'd require knowledge of the way various JBeam parts fit together and of the various parameters of my system that can be JBeam-configured, mostly gear ratios, RPMs, and motor power ratings.
There's a problem with the neuest version ETK856th. When driving at or more than 160 km/h with full throttle, the battery will keep charging well above 95%. The reason I guess is the motor power drops at speed, so the motor cannot use all power from the generator forcing the excessive electricity from the generator to charge the battery.
