Game doesn't quit (everything freezes)

    Hi everyone, I don't know if this is a known problem I have searched everywhere but can't get a conclusive answer.

    Whenever I startup BeamNG play for some time and try to click the exit box to quit the game, everything freezes and the game doesn't respond. It seems to be pinned to the foreground though.

    When I try to hit ctrl + alt + del to open up the task manager, it opens in the background and the BeamNG screen is persistent. I have to alt + tab to the task manager then in the small window look where BeamNG is and then navigate to the app blindly using my arrow keys and then hit Del to end the task.
    This is highly annoying, is this a known bug?

    All my other games seem to load and quit fine, I am at a loss and don't know what to do anymore.
    I have tried everything,

    -cleaning cache (no effect)
    -safe mode (same thing)
    -clean install (still no solution)

    I hope someone can help me,

    I am having this exact issue after the update, except it happens randomly and not upon trying to exit.

    I haven't been able to play it at all, it freezes before I can even select a map. I can still ctrl+alt+del and open task manager, but like you said it's in the background. I can navigate my start menu by pressing the Windows button on my keyboard, but even right-clicking on Beam in the taskbar and selecting 'Close Window' does nothing and Beam is still frozen and pinned to the foreground.

    I have also tried your same 3 attempts to fix, to no avail. I think it is definitely something with the update.

    I hope this gets fixed real quick since I can't even play the game now.

    Check if your antivirus or similar is messing with the game's process, keeping it alive after you close it.

    Your is a different issue by the description.
    I'd suggest verifying your install, trying a Clean Reinstall and checking your antivirus and similar (which never hurts) :)

    Must be your PC. Check your PC specs with the Control Panel. Just sending it out again:
    The minimum specs for Beam are:
    - OS: Windows 7 Service Pack 1, Windows 8.1, Windows 10
    - CPU: Intel i3 or equivalent
    - RAM: 4GB DDR3
    - GPU: GTX 550Ti or equivalent
    - DirectX: Version 11
    - Storage: 6-8 GB of available space

    And the recommended specs are:
    - OS: Windows 7 Service Pack 1, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 (64-bit)
    - CPU: High-end Intel i5/i7 or equivalent AMD
    - RAM: 8GB DDR3
    - GPU: GTX 780 or equivalent
    - DirectX: Version 11
    - Storage: 6-8GB of available space
    - Additional Notes: Gamepad recommended

    Must be my pc? can't be, like I said all of my other games run and function fine it's just BeamNG.

    And my specs are:

    OS: Win 10 (64 Bit)
    CPU: Intel Core I7 5820k (OC 4Ghz)
    RAM: 16 GB Corsair Vengeance LPX (2400Mhz with XMP enabled)
    GPU: Asus Strix GTX 980 TI OC
    BootDrive: Samsung EVO 850 SSD 500 GB (Game is installed on this drive)
    Secondary Drive: Seagate Barracuda 7200Rpm 2TB

    Your PC seems really good for Beam, well. You need to see if your antivirus is mistaking Beam as a virus, as Nadeox1 said though.

    So, I think that I managed to fix it.
    It wasn't my antivirus software, I don't know what the exact problem was though.

    I fixed it by going into the windowed mode in game, then closing out using the top right X and then starting beam up again and pressing exit.
    After that worked, I switched back to fullscreen mode and everything works again, maybe it was a glitch in steam or something.
    I don't understand it at all, but it seems to be fixed now so thanks for all the help anyways.
