I find this point of view interesting, so I put this here not to clutter rate the song topic. As a kid and teen I was into classical music, baroque and stuff like that, did play chess too like all the odd nerd types. I truly disliked any kind of heavy music like metal etc. Then there was a season when I did listen ZZ top which was bad ass stuff back then, but I was really not interested much in music at all, I could listen some that came from radio, but didn't keep it important at all. It was tens of years that I was without any speakers that would of been better than laptop speakers. Then there was japanese season, very much J-pop during that, their way to overdo whole product was something fascinating. In recent 5-6 years or so I have had mainstream metal season, powermetal season, then deathmetal while still enjoying some lighter japanese stuff mostly. Maybe it is middle age thing, but music has become important since going past 50 and very much of rebellious stuff, is it like some say that there is need to experience youth again at some point? Maybe, all I know is that what music one likes seems to change as well as how important music is. And how edgy I am, I'm still edgy as hell I guess, but there might be slightly longer times that I barely manage it, not saying those moments would be long though! Reason I like death metal and black metal is how many of songs have lot of thought in lyrics as well as how soothing they are. Reason I like vocaloid and stuff like that is that they are like condensed essence of things that move ones mind, they flood with that at incredible pace as well of that overdoing everything to level of silly ridiculous. Things I dislike most are where beat is slow and which generally are like sitting in emotion stretching it so long that mind wonders off, which is majority of what average people tends to listen, pretty much all stuff that comes from radio etc. 60bpm is a torture for me.
While I do like energetic music, I also like some slow stuff, which generally can have a nice and calm effect. (Things like Pink Floyds Marooned.)
I recently listened to Set It Off's Christmas song "This Christmas (I'll Burn It To The Ground)". I found it decent, though I would listen more to Merry Axe-Mas from Ice Nine Kills in my opinion.
Kovenant - Nexus Polaris album, there is such wonderful blend of beauty and ugly that it is hard to find more perfect balance. Melody, background, singing, all in that chaotic harmony. In same time it manages to be soft and hard, never a dull moment in whole album, oh I would love to listen that so that sound would fill whole space, instead I can enjoy neighbor's dog barking over my music.

I noticed that a decent number of these posts are about metal, so I want to add some variety. I heard this radio while driving home some time ago (done forget when, but definitely when they started playing Christmas songs), and I thought it was brilliant and creative. Probably going to be my favorite version of The 12 Days of Christmas. I think this is the exact version of the song I heard on the radio.

That's the great thing about McCall... he had such flexibility, but he never took himself too seriously. If you listen closely, you can hear the backup singers in "Round the World" switch to singing "Dum...Dum...Dum...This is Dumb, Dumb, Dumb" halfway through the song. It takes a certain amount of guts to mock your own song during the song itself, and even more guts to pitch that to a record label!" The only other singer I can think of that was similar in that regard would be Arlo Gurthie - just compare "City of New Orleans" to "Motorcycle Song". Anyway, I've been listening to this song for two days, and I still have no idea what it's saying, or even whether it's in German or Hungarian. Anybody multilingual out there that can give me a gist of the lyrics?
I often see videos of people covering some songs, I have heard that some people then fake playing which is bit odd to me. Now I have found myself wondering is Mukuchi real? I can tell that Mukuchi has many guitars and really long sleeves. I would think it is bit difficult to play with such long sleeves, I mean those strings get rubbed by sleeve constantly, that can't be good or can it? Something just looks odd here, I'm not guitarist so don't really know much about such, but does that look odd to you is Mukuchi real?
the 80s are a gold mine to discover further and further even when you aren't grown up in them i wished i were :,) most recently i discovered THE THE really great band especially their album Soul Mining is amazing
