(Original progress; see posts #105 (page 6) and later for its revival)

I bet nobody was expecting this thing. other than the people on the Discord

Welcome, everyone, to the Plaxton President.

Ever since it came out, and through the 2000s, this bus was the absolute definitive British double-decker bus seen in towns and cities all over the country.
If you've ever been to the UK, you've almost definitely seen this thing rolling around in service, no matter where you went. People like me, who live in the UK, will be very familiar with this bus - especially around London, where they were absolutely everywhere until very recently.

There are already several people involved with this bus, with @Capkirk yet again setting up the engines.
About those engines - it will be available with 240hp, 280hp, 300hp or 320hp in the form of the Jargl J724 (Volvo D7C) 7.3-litre 6-cylinder turbodiesel engine, mounted transverse in the back of the bus.

It will also be available with a selection of Voth and ZF automatics.

Anyone who's ever been in one of these would know how much noise it makes - but also how slow it is.
It will only be able to do about 45mph, like the real bus could. Not great, but then again it never really went that fast anyway while driving around little UK towns and cities.

Anyway, here are some pictures of its progress, as of today (13/10/2018):

And as it stands right now:
    upload_2018-10-13_12-49-21.png

I know that many people are going to be hyped for this bus, as it's going to be the first proper double-decker for the game - but please don't flood this thread with posts saying 'when is it ready?' or 'any progress?'. It will be properly released when it is ready - which will definitely be next year.

Oh, and also - for anyone who doesn't know already:
    upload_2018-10-13_13-0-32.png
So that's what's happening with the other two. TL;DR - Blackfoot is pretty much dead, and Twingo will always be an extremely occasional side project - and won't be released any time soon.

Edit (for that Discord post), this bus will actually have a different chassis, and will not be based on the Wentward at all.

This is my new main project.

So, without any further ado - let's get this show on the road.

This would go lovely with a Plaxton Pointer bodied Dennis Dart SLF!

Are you going to make a non double-doored version?

Hmm, I wonder what I've been planning on making on making after this bus.... :D
That's exactly the plan. To make the Pointer-bodied Dennis Dart after this.

Yes! They're my favourite bus! :D
They were extremely common here, but now there's only a few Mini Pointer Darts and Pointer 2s that hardly ever do the routes I use. :(
Enviro 200 MMCs and Wright Streetlites have taken over, along with a few Mercedes Citaros. Bring back the old buses!

It makes me happy whenever an older bus arrives on the routes I use.

I wonder if it's possible to recreate the whistle of the Allison gearbox in BeamNG?

Right hand drive - since it was only ever available in the UK and a few RHD markets
