Dear lord I would trade my sweet 4.6l, 385hp, N/A, terrible for (modern) emissions, eco-heretical, 13mpg V8 for a turbo 1.0l i3 just to never hear you talk poorly-informed and often willfully igorant politics in this thread again. Not really but Jesus please give it a rest. You don’t hear me purposefully ranting about why I like sedans and pillarless coupes and think they should be the only cars around, because who wants to hear that all the time? No one, that’s who. Make a group or another thread to whine about ‘muh freedoms’ and catalytic converts some more please.
This goddamn thread... i did once get political in this thread, so im definitely guilty, but I regret it a lot. Back on topic, what does anyone think on the idea of an Autonomous Police Car? https://autoweek.com/article/autono...ment-motorola-patents-autonomous-police-car-0
Here's a fun idea for a book/film/game... Basically the above, except with multiple competing companies, each with their own fleets of autonomous vehicular policing units. These fleets are all able to send details of crimes via an Api to the police, and charge people in the process, taking a cut of each transaction. Of course all these companies are gunning for maximum profit, so they can buy out their competition in order to gain a dominent market position. Its probably been done before, but still, an interesting thought.
Engine and steering rack can also break, or, more correctly, will break. But it's still better than Alfa Romeo. Fun fact : the third car with severe issues was an E87. P.S. me when a certain user whines about cc's
Well, comparing BMW to Alfa Romeo in terms of reliability is like comparing life in a basement to life on a park bench. Both are bad, but on different levels of bad.
Apparently the ABS can break on the 1 series.... oh well. Do your reliability research and you’ll be fine. My friend’s mother had a facelift e90 328i XDrive auto. Was the most unreliable thing ever. Had practically everything replaced short of the long block. Modern BMWs (especially late 00s ones) were disasters in terms of reliability. Avoid early N54s like the plague.
https://www.behance.net/gallery/62477895/2020-Mitsubishi-Eclipse This would've been cool to see, if Mitsubishi didn't have to go the "fuck the old Eclipse fans, we're making it a crossover" direction. It actually looks decent (unlike the Eclipse Cross, where it looks like a Japanese bloated crossover with a rear that keeps me thinking about the Aztek somehow).
Considering the ivory tower "intellectualism" you've spewed trying to tell us how to live combined with some narrow minded elitism and some very unchristian behaviour. Yes. Yes I do. I think most of us do. Ever tried hearing yourself? Or thought about how a whopping nobody ever agrees with you? Or heard what people say about you behind your back?
Please explain this assertion of willful ignorance as I'm not quite sure what you mean by it. No I haven't seen what people say about me behind my back, though honestly I'd now like to. All I've really seen so far is a bunch of people just going "everything is fine, shut up" while pretending that threats like regulatory overreach, BEV/AV advancements, etc. either don't exist or aren't really threats. That whole idea where "Congress really has no authority to regulate air pollution and the executive branch definitely doesn't, but the problem is really bad so let's pretend they do" (swap out crises and names of legislative bodies as appropriate to your situation) is a form of special pleading and is how the "free" world got its current alphabet soup nightmares. At least at a local level, incompetent and malicious politicians can't harm too many people and can be thrown out relatively quickly. I really do wish there were some candidates who were less buffoonish but just as effective, but when it comes right down to it I'll take a motor mouth who genuinely wants to do right by their country over a smooth-talking milquetoast who will just sort of let things keep going the way they've been going. By the way, I'm really interested to know what you mean by "Unchristian behavior". I know I'm not perfect but I genuinely don't know what you're referring to here.
And replace it with a better one, yes. It's not even like I'm trying to run catless (with my current cars anyway), but under the current (stupid) law using a non-stock type or number of catalysts is a felony, as is any replacement of or deliberate damage to a currently-functioning catalyst. So you either become a felon on live with a giant bottleneck in your exhaust system forever (especially with cars that can benefit from a larger diameter pipe or true duals). One of the most basic types of tuning, almost completely illegal because some out-of-touch paper jockey said so back in like 1988 or something. If a federal law regarding post-purchase catalyst modifications is even necessary, I can still think of so many better ways to write it, but they all apparently take too much effort or make too much sense for our "friends" down in Washington. What I'm trying to say here is, this is always what happens when you let career bureaucrats with no subject matter knowledge, no hobbies or interests except maybe golf or... whatever career bureaucrats do on their days off, and quite possibly no private-sector, for-profit jobs on their resume, rule huge masses of people from afar. The so-called "free" world is currently ruled by a bunch of "professional rulers" who no longer remember what it's like to be one of the little people and couldn't possibly care less if they tried.
So my mom recently purchased a 2015 Veloster Turbo. I drove it once. I need one. I'm a believer in snails now.
They’re so much fun even going slow. A friend of a friend of a friend (on and on) has an Elantra turbo that he swapped a bigger turbo onto. It’s barely mapped properly, is actually slow, and lags so much, but it has to be one of the most entertaining cars I’ve driven recently.
I just learned about this car right now. It's supposedly another bubble car (kinda in the sense of the Isetta).
