Yeah, it might "Sound Italian enough" but that doesn't mean it isn't a stupid name.

It's something on the level of naming a Chinese maker "Chingchong".

It's not a matter of meaning. As mentioned here, the only way "Autobello" could have made some sense was a portmanteau with the surname of the founder in it, which is the case here as we found out today.

It's just that it's kinda weak as a name, in my opinion. Just a few tweaks (see my previous post) could have made it a lot better.

By the way... Nadeox1 lives in Italy, but he is quite certainly not of italian descent.

    Stop arguing about the name.
    It's pathetic.
If they were going to change the name they would've done it by now.

Not a very good analogie imo

"Autobello" sounds like a Italian carmaker, it isn't stereo-typically Italian. Naming a Italian car "Italia Pizzeria" would be.

I think the name works. The company was founded by a guy named Bello, and it makes autos. Also, keep in mind the Beetle was not actually called the Käfer - its real name was the Typ-1. So, stop buggering the devs - it will all be fine in the end. Worst comes to worst, we can come up with an unofficial community name for it.

I was born in Ireland. But my late father was Italian (my mother, tho, is Irish) and I've been living in Italy for about 30 years now. But this is irrelevant and off-topic here.

As Italian as eating pizza and spaghetti, with just a bit of Tullamore to wet the throat.

Okay, we should stop talking about car names and what nationality people are, to more OT discussion

Has anyone else noticed the change in branding? I haven't seen the old AB circle logo on the new model...

Later models might have the more stylized logo we've seen before, while early ones have the shield logo with full lettering. Who knows.

Speaking of the steering wheel... Bakelite. Yay!
