    Hello there,
I got new pc and of course I had to play BeamNG. One thing happens, whenever I am about to hit something or just driving at the limit and there is a chance of going flying, game freezes for a second and 'wakes up' dozen meters later. Use of GPU and CPU drops to 0% at that moment. Temperatures are way lower than in f.e: Witcher 3 Wild Hunt and in any other game, pc never does that so it's not the temp.
To sum up, this thing happens only in BeamNG and I assume it must be sth with physix in game. Graphics are maxed out and I got 70-80FPS
It's annoying, does anyone know how to fix it?
    Specs:
    Win 10 Pro
    Cpu: Intel i5-8600K
    Gpu: Gigabyte Radeon RX-580 8GB
    MB: MSI Z-370 PC Pro
psu: beQuiet pure power 10 700W
    RAM: 16Gb Adata sth
    Game is on HDD
    System on SSD

It could be some asset loading (ie. damaged textures for glass/lights), or else.
In the first case, it should only happen the first time you crash that vehicle model in that session (after which stuff are already in memory and do not need to be loaded again)
If it happens any time you crash the same vehicle in that same session, the specify please.

OK, I will be more careful in observing and if it happens only once per vehicle then I guess I'll live it like that and usually do sth like introducing crash and then play. It might be it because I change cars very often during one session, also maps. But I will test it and share results in some time, thanks!

UPDATE: I did test it just a while ago but firstly, I set frame rate at 60, not to force gpu to much and i undervolted it a bit without loosing stability. Results: this time I started with Off road Garvil and wel it freezed two times. I played for dozen of minutes and during that session I changed car three times, nothing freezed. Still, I wonder why it happened two or three times at one car and never again on other cars when it happened on all the cars multiple times before

With HDD such does happen, it kinda depends how fast HDD is and how loaded system is etc. but if you install game on SSD you should see a lot less of such.

Generally if you have map and car loaded and you drive around for 15 minutes, it should happen lot less, that is if nothing flushes disk cache, if cache is flushed, then lag spikes starts all over again and only gremlins of Windows know why cache is sometimes working better sometimes worse.

In old Windows (XP and alike) you could actually change how much memory is allocated to disk cache, but new ones are dumb down in this aspect too.

So you could try to install game to SSD and see how much is changed.
