I have begun working on the body of the car, but i want to wait a bit longer before showing screenshots of it so that it more accurately represents what the finished car will look like. At the moment, it's just patches of faces outlining the basic shape of some body panels, which is not the prettiest thing to show screenshots of. I know that usually when a thread for a car is created, you see the shell of the car with no insides, but in this case I am building the car from the inside out. If you want to get a rough idea of what the car will look like, I have a few sketches in the original post and scattered in the first few pages of the thread.
Here's a logo I quickly made in Blender. What do you think? Is it too bright? Should the colors be different?
Hey guys, I'm pretty sure @BryceCharters has not told you this yet, but he will be offline doing fun stuff for a few days, so this mod is on hold as of this post. I'm working on logos, so I will be the co-dev as of now, just to let everyone know
Thanks, I forgot to mention that here! I'm back now, but i only have a week left before I leave again for vacation. I will be gone for 1-2 months, so i won't be able to work on any of my projects during that time. I will still be online occasionally via mobile. I'll try to get as much as i can done this week before i leave!
Hello everyone! I'm leaving tomorrow, so this will be the last progress update for about a month. I'll still be online sometimes via mobile. I've been very busy getting ready to leave, so I haven't progressed much farther than the basics of the rear suspension. As you can see I have the control arms in place, but I still need to model the wheel hub's attachment points. You may notice that the car has an extra control arm, which will be for dynamic AWS. The car will also have adjustable suspension height, the mechanics for which will be located on the top of the frame in between the shocks you see here. I also have yet to model the mechanical bits inside the hollow portion of the frame, where the electric motors will also be placed. The suspension setup is very strange and I'm interested to see how it handles when I get it in the game. It is almost completely based off of the EP9's suspension setup, and the same will apply for the front suspension. Just a few quick notes: I would like to give credit to the BeamNG team as a small part of the geometry here was taken from the K-Series. Also, as mentioned previously, workclock1 will be working on the sounds and logo design for the car. Since I will be gone, this thread will be temporarily placed on hold. Your feedback is welcome!
Hello everyone. I returned from vacation a while ago, and after a small break from modding, I will now resume work on the Eon. Here is the current status of the model: As you can see, the rear ride height control system is now in place, as well as some more structural tubes. I have also started working on the windows. The Jbeam and textures are not yet started. More progress updates will come soon.
Forgot about this one! I'm surprised some 10 yr old wasn't asking for progress updates every 5 hours.
Thanks for the suggestion! However, someone previously informed me that they had already planned to use "E-Series" as the name for a mod they were making. So, unfortunately, that is not an option.
