This mod is looking good so far! I'm really loving all the new JDM car mods coming out recently (AE86, Skyline R34, etc etc) I did run into some bugs though: No engine sounds, as mentioned by @henryjhost. Other sounds (horn, headlight toggle, indicators, etc) work though. But I noticed there's no handbrake sound, not sure if you forgot to add it or it's also broken. License plate issues: There is a front license plate mount, but there's no plate on it by default. If you put one on it, it's inside the mount. Also the rear plate is floating a bit. Pictured below. Broken windshield is incredibly bright compared to normal windshield. Also pictured below. These are all the issues I found so far after a really quick testing session (didn't have much time). I do like the mod so far, though. I hope you can fix the issues (but I'm sure you will because it's a WIP mod), the most glaring issue being the missing engine sound.
This mod is pretty good right now, but the main problem is that the sound doesn't work right now, but everything else about it is very good, although the jbeam needs some work and the licence plate position for front and rear need to be adjusted as the front license plate is inside the bumper and the rear license plate is flying in the air behind the rear bumper
Honestly as these conversion mods go this is the first one thats been anyway decent this year. The jbeam matches the model pretty well and the suspension is the right type for the car. The model choice is also pretty good as it has a reasonable poly count (so less chance of spike balls) and has some good chassis detail behind the bumpers and fenders. That said its not perfect. The colours are way too oversaturated, making it look sort of plasticy, to fix this adjust the "_c" colour map to closer match the stock cars. Looks alot more natural this way. Another thing is the interior, at the minute its very dark, BeamNG especially doesn't deal with that too well. Increasing the brightness overall a little would help it alot, you want it so it closer matches the brightness of the stock steering wheel materials like bellow. Higher specular on this would make it alot more realistic too. There are quite alot of model errors though. The door jambs are missing on the stock model (the race versions dont have this problem) The stock bumper is missing the bottom edge completely. The race roll cage also doesn't fit too well as it clips through the front and the interior mirror. The parcel shelf should lift with the tailgate (it should also be double sided so its visible from both sides) Other than that the only other major issue I see is the license plate positions being way off as mentioned and the interior glass going super reflective when damaged. It wouldnt take too much work to get this to be a pretty good conversion mod overall though.
I also think that the car is a bit too low (at least for the base and Spirit-R configurations, it might be fine for the other configurations). The tire goes through the fender slightly: I also noticed that the hood and trunk/spoiler wobble a bit. It's not very noticeable when you're driving on a flat straight road, but it is pretty distracting when driving over bumps or on a bumpy road. I also think that the car is too weak, it deforms too much even at low speed crashes. It should be made a bit stronger. There's also no handbrake sound (even after fixing the engine sounds). It's an extremely minor issue, but it shouldn't be too hard to get that working as well. (Edit: I also noticed that headlights work even when they are not on the car, if they have fallen off or something.) This mod has potential: I think it could be a really good mod, if you get most of these issues fixed. The FD RX-7 is one of my all time favorite Japanese cars, so I'm really glad that someone made it for BeamNG.Drive!
Great mod!!! only complaints are the rear end (rear bumper, hatch, spoiler, exhaust, and taillights) shakes when you shift and the suspension is a little bit too soft on the stock configs.
Yet again, I have to be that person who has to ask if you actually got the permission to use models from the developers of the games you converted them from? If not, please do not upload stolen content.
