I mean. The Pacer wasn't very economical either. So maybe the Pacer would be a better example of a hatchback conversion of something like the Barstow.
The Pacer is even farther from the Barstow - it was one of the few vehicles that AMC took a risk on by building an all-new platform. They were trying to play the long game by anticipating what automotive regulations might look like in the 1980s, and building that car right away so they wouldn't have to do it later (you can read a short history here). In the end, it was the Hornet/Gremlin chassis that survived into the '80s in the form of the Concord/Eagle 4x4. Getting back on topic, I'd like to see an Australian variant of the T-series: Fairly straightforward - RHD interior, air filters relocated to the outside, and dust snorkels fitted.
I apologize for bump, but here are some things I would like to see: (Yes, before you ask, I do know that there are mods for some of these, but please don't point them out!) Beater versions/skins for more vehicles: Since we already have a weathered version of the Covet and rusty skins for the Moonhawk, Barstow, and D-series. I would like to see a weathered version of the LeGran, 80's/90's Pessimas, and 200bx (because why not). Heck, even a rusty Miramar or Burnside (possibly a banger config to go with it), even a vandalized city bus livery for the Wentward or a rusty T-series would be nice to see as well. I6 engine for Burnside: One thing that the Burnside lacks in my opinion is an option for a straight-six engine. Why is it needed? Because many cars from the 1950's to the 1970's were offered with straight-six models, for the sake of realism, and since the Moonhawk and Barstow have straight-six models, I don't see why there can't be a straight-six model for the Burnside too. More body styles: Another thing I think Beam is lacking is the ability to choose from is the ability to choose from different body styles. Since most real-life vehicles were offered in several body style, I would like to see this happen in Beam, for the sake of realism. I would love to see a Moonhawk sedan, a Burnside woody wagon, a Miramar pickup/van, and even a passenger van for the H-series would be nice to see as well. Taxi liveries for 90's Pessima/Gavril Roamer: Umm, pretty self-explanatory.
There all mods for what you siad , i6 Burnside in dpmp, and im pretty sure there are no plans for body style s, everything else we could in game, though
As much as I agree with everything else you've suggested - I have to disagree with you on this one. There's a reason that the Burnside Special is only offered with a V8 - in fact, it's arguably named the Burnside V8 Special: Burnside was Gavril's mid-range luxury division - similar to Mercury, Buick, or DeSoto. As a premium product, the Burnside special was offered only with V8 engines instead of the I6 that powered most of your standard, run-of-the-mill cars. You could probably option a V8 into a Gavril-badged product, but if you were able to afford the minor status symbol of a Burnside, it was generally assumed that you wanted the V8 for a superior driving experience. An I6 option would have only served to dilute the brand and blur the line between the products of Gavril's subsidiaries.
It's possible - I'm not entirely certain what the '70s model from Rigs of Rods was called, or if it was even ever named. I know that they were active until 1985, according to what @gabester wrote when he created the wiki page, but it always struck me as odd that Burnside died out in the eighties when most of these mid-range brands were selling plenty of vehicles.
Correct. The recent change to the wiki was made by a forum user who provided no proof. The 1985 date is direct from Gabester.
I want to have official answer from @gabester, or another dev, if Gavril and Burnside in RoR and Beam are Canon..
I can't find the post, but I remember a developer saying that ROR and BeamNG take place in different "universes" if you will.
Kind of. It's like GTA to a degree. The same companies might exist in two different universes in name only. Nothing in ROR is canon to BeamNG.
this is probably old coming from me but still a half decent garvil engine 3500 pickup trucks dont use 5.5 v8s
surprised this thread is still active Yeah, it needs a diesel or a larger gas V8. Also, with Italy being the next map released, the I series and 800 series should get smaller engines, like a 1.8 four for the I series and a low-boost version for the 800. Perhaps for the old/new pessima as well, maybe a turbodiesel for the sunburst/new pessima...
