When I was sitting to have a rest in The Forest 5 cannibals an armsy and a virginia attacked me at once still shaking lol
I was playing Monster Hunter World, minding my own business. Turned the corner and got curb-stomped by one of these after it made a particularly horrifying scream. This all happened within 3 seconds. Didn't even have the time to get my rinky-dink longsword out. I guess jokes on me for gathering herbs at 1:30AM in a pitch black room. Should've expected something to jump out and get me.
Playing Luigi's Mansion when I was no older than 10. I had to stop after a few minutes. To this day, I dread that game.
Sortof a bump While being on the airport in Rust, I unlocked a locked crate, and the attack helicopter came. Me being me; I hide myself in a hanger, and the helicopter saw me (and I survived). The helicopter shot on the hanger, because I was in it, for like 5 minutes, then.. it dropped randomly a bomb (I didn't knew that it could do that), 5 meters away from me. The sound was very very very loud. Rip my ears. Now I mute my sound when I know the heli is shooting me, because of this..
My scariest moment would be either when I was trying out Beware for the first time or an incident in Brick Rigs. Beware: After driving around in the dark for some time I found the dam where the big Gru's are. I was waiting on the other side of the dam watching them when for no reason at all my car lurched. Yes that scared me. Brick Rigs: I was standing next to a car playing with it's hood when suddenly someone changed the weather to "foggy". Then that same someone said in the chat: *you feel breathing* Me: ? Him: :] I start turning around to look behind me and there he was right there. It scared me because his smiley face took up my entire monitor. Also that person was @FireStriker and he is creepy AF. I obviously have almost no experience with horror games whatsoever, and for some reason shooter games don't scare me much.
Before the fight with Mia on the first floor in Resident Evil 7 when you see her passing by the the door opening after using the bolt cutters on the locker that holds the fuse. That gave me chills all the way from the tip of my toes
OK, so this one time I was trying out a map in Garry's Mod I got from the workshop, it was like a large building map with towers, and the whole map was like intruded into the ground, so walls were around the main building area, with grass on the ground, seems pretty good, I thought. Then, I saw a small entrance in the wall, I went in, it was a very tight and cramped corridor, and there was a second corridor leading right, and I wanted to go right, and right when I turned the corner a zombie was shambling towards me, and it was like only half a metre away, and that actually startled me so much that I immediately pressed V and no-clipped out of that cramped corridor as fast as I could. Another time I also got pretty scared, I was also playing gmod and it was a map with roads, an intersection, and one road leading down into the ground and immediately turning to the right, and a few skyscrapers. I also just downloaded that map and wanted to explore it, so I spawned myself a car and drove off. I thought I'd first explore the underground, so I drove down the road and around the corner and I saw a wall with maybe 5 or 6 zombies in front of it! Naturally, I wanted to back out of it as quickly as possibly, but I was so shaky, I accidentally pressed E instead of S so I got out of the car!! First I was safe, inside the car and then I was outside! Right next to the half dozen zombies! That scared me so much I just pressed cmd+Q to quit the game. I was done! I know, I'm an utter wuss when it comes to video game scares.
When I was 6 I played Far Cry(the original one),I pressed the random level(i think 60-something) and when it loaded,I began walking.I open the first door. There was a small creature who scared me to flip on my chair(I used office chairs then in my house)and hit my head on the table behind.Fuck that was scary
Pretty much anything that pops out at me when I don't expect it.(feral ghouls in the fallout series, getting blown up from an offscreen projectile in any game with explosives, and so on)
Scary moments in video games? When the parachutes fail in KSP. When the timer is under 1s in Crazy Taxi. When I realise the sewer pipe is upstream from the water pumps which makes the water pumps sewered water up which makes the water all icky in Cities: Skylines. When my truck suddenly steers hard-left or hard-right when going back into the game (from menu), when I'm using mouse steering in ETS2/ATS. When I accidentally hit a bus in Burnout Paradise while slumberly cruising the streets of Paradise City. When my screen freezes while being 1 stop away from the last one in Bus & Cable Car Simulator on macOS via Porting Kit wrapper. When I find out I got my staging wrong in KSP but noticed it too late. When I realise my train's brakes are too bad for the train to stop without a giant crash, in Train Simulator. When I hear a thunder in Gone Home. When I accidentally spawn a hostile NPC in Garry's Mod. When a hostile NPC jumpscares me in Garry's Mod, in a map I thought was harmless at first. In this case, 'scary' also means 'shocking' or 'leaving so. speechless'.
