It reuses whatever rev limiter logic the engine already uses. It's essentially just a lower rev limit, the support for that was added a while ago for improved TC support.

Ah so whatever rev-limiter the engine has coded in is used? Ok, that makes more sense, thank you.

Exactly. (Hence the smooth operation in the ETK video, these use smooth limiters, just like IRL)

This looks interested, on an unrelated note (sorta off topic) can you add in buttons for Launch Control please on the starter button app?

Is there a way to add the after fire to the two steps "limiter" so we can have beautiful flame spitting two step in our cars

I guess coding wise... that would be an ignition cut rev limiter (I am guessing the one already in game is either a fuel cut or a throttle cut?) that would then allow for excess fuel to enter into the exhaust and as Diamondback stated on the previous page, that is then used to calculate the afterfire. That would need a bit of code, but I can't imagine a whole heap of a lot would be needed for such a thing.

Well, this is fairly low rpm, so not lots of fuel, but with the right exhaust and engine tuning (as in jbeam params) this should spit flames as is.

Speaking of pie (I'm assuming that you mean the radial menu) I'd love to see either steering input disabled or time slowed when the menu is pulled up. As it stands, the menu is pretty useless when you are moving since you can't select anything without steering your car. I've tried using the right thumbstick, but can't press "A" at the same time I'm using the menu, and the camera still moves when using it. These changes would be huge quality of life improvements with regards to the radial menu.

I suppose you could hijack the existing afterfire code and set the amount of fuel in the exhaust to a medium-ish value to simulate spark cut or an aftermarket "backfire" kit.

Those alternatives (and others) have been tried in the past - the current behaviour is the one that created the lowest severity/amount of complaints.

I'm usually don't using wheel menu, but most games using same controls for camera and radial menus. Using radial menu usually blocking input for other actions using same buttons as long as radial menu is open.

If complaints are an issue, perhaps an option to override camera and/or steering inputs in the radial menu could be implemented? Creating the menu option and maintaining it through subsequent releases would be additional work of course, but I think it is something a lot of players would appreciate.

This is why I asked about whether it cut fuel or spark, when it cuts fuel there's no afterfire but when there's no spark the fuel ignites laterintue exhaust, causing afterfire.

Will the 2step be available in older cars with race ecus?

And in theory if it is, in those itd be activated by only the clutch and also act as no lift shift

What about an app? Maybe an app just for two-step or a drag racing app.
Here is a crap drawing in paint of a possibility

Something that would be cool to have as a new feature would be a set group of apps that are set in pre-sets that you can choose from depending on what your doing, ex, drag racing, rally, road course racing, normal driving etc.

It will always be activated the same way across all cars.

We are trying to stay away from interactive apps as much as possible, so probably not.

Probably for the sake of reliability and responsiveness of the interface since that would just add to it. This also wouldn’t really need an interactive app anyway.

For any visual reference, there should be a simple line within the interface’s round rev counter indicating when the two-step occurs. I’ll make a concept of what I mean later.

Because they can't be used with controllers and wheels and force you to keep using the mouse.

I guess it could be quite useful for those drag starts I suppose....if the game will all for it I mean...
