Hey man, try and be constructive, ik this is your first day on the forums, but try and read the posting rules 'nat.
I am just looking forward to this, and hope this mod will get contiuous support. And why quote me in particular, huh?
Just because some or many of the people in this specific thread give basic replies doesn't mean they are pointless or meaningless. My point is that even if some of these replies are indeed short they at least help in some form, as most of them help inspire me to do my work. Many of these replies show me that there are people who very much care about the work that I do and if I didn't have any kind of support like that I would feel like ultimately this project would be useless and thus I would decide not to finish it. Even if your intention was to progress this thread by adding "Spicy" it doesn't achieve anything as the only thing it really achieves is wasting my time to come and check back on the thread to only be disappointed. Unfortunately for you, you have already managed to post some pretty stupid comments which has wasted my time and is why you are currently getting scolded by the creator of this thread, which must be pretty embarrassing.
That's going in my signature, lol What engine will it use? Race car, so I'll guess a twin turbocharged V10 or something? I could probably do a reconstruction in Automation, and port it over to BeamNG as an example.
As the car is "roughly" based on the LMP1 rules it will run a V6 Twin Turbo. Since the real LMP1 cars* also make use on electrical motors for acceleration I want to try and add that by using a system similar to the nitros found on a few of beams cars, I will hopefully be able to implement that. *I know most of the current LMP1 cars don't have this, but you want the car to be really fast right?
I think an option of both arcade (really fast) and realistic (obviously realistic) would be appropriate?
I didn't really mean it like that, I mean like for example the Toyota ts050 uses a electrical system but none of their other competitors have it and they are quite frankly way faster than the competition. So to answer your question, I really don't know. Perhaps a slower version that only makes use of the engine (Like Toyotas competitors) could work aswell, why you would then choose those cars I don't know but perhaps you'd just want to have fun. Kind of spamming the thread, if you have any questions for the next day or so please just message me.
Are options possible? Like: -6.5 N/A V10 -8.0 N/A V8 -4.0 Turbocharged V6 -2.0 Hybrid Turbocharged V12 -5.0 Turbo Inline 6 (?)
An LMP car wouldn't have engines of those size. The V12 would be a 3.0, the V6 would be a 2.5, the V8 wouldn't exist, the V10 probably wouldn't either, the I6 would be in the 2.5 range to rev high.
I like the idea of using nitrous to represent the electric drivetrain. so long as you can figure out some way of getting it to regenerate, having it so that it can be disabled would be quite a cool addition.
To be honest, it does not matter what real LMP cars would have for their engines. This is BeamNG.Drive, not WEC We just better get appropriate sounds for all of them, is what I say.
