says in the title; what inspired you to start modding? For me it was 99’s amazing mods and live streams paired with Bijo’s modding skill. I spent an entire evening on blender figuring out how to get the 3D model of the bolide into blender so I could edit it. How about you? From this, i now have my own mod on the repo and one I’m working on in my profile picture.
for me it was @Glitchy 's skin tutorial that got me started with modding. since that i've been learning more about jbeam and now i'm working on a new body style for the sunburst (and maybe a new vehicle during the summer).
I started working on Configs for Workclock1 since then I've learned more about Jbeam, and how to make nice skins, but if I could only learn how to use Blender, I could probably get much better. --- Post updated --- Also I love making maps. I have a new one coming out shortly.
I... don't know. I just did. I enjoy creating things, drawing, etc, so I guess BeamNG just became another canvas for creation.
<3 I haven't made any mods in quite a long time, but I started because I had so many ideas that no one has made yet.
I just woke up one day and was like "If i start modding, I wonder if a youtuber will do a video on my mod.." so I spent weeks learning and reading, and I figured out how to do a config (the mod was later reviewed by Neilogical in a Halloween special) So then i was like, Hell yes let's make another mod So I invented a config pack, sadly it failed Then came the chicken, which is my most beloved mod (don't ask why) And I'm just getting better and better, but I still do not know how to JBEAM Even after 2 years of reading about it Someday I'll be smart enough to do so, but in the meantime, i'll keep the props coming, as well as space related stuff Not too sure why i put a tab in between every sentence, but i guess it's too late now
Hey, I'm still working on the MegaPack! (If that's what your referring to) Here's my latest config: the VXIR Pessima: A Track BEAST (I still dont know how to get really high quality screenshots) It comes with a near complete race setup, with stiff and low race springs, which makes it corner really well. Race steering, and engine components. It comes with the 2.4L SR Engine, which was developed originally for Group A, but Ibishu decided to detune it for street use. Except, this is a Homoligation model, and comes with all the power of the Group A car.
10 years or so ago. Honestly, it started as a 'Look, I do cool stuff too', but in reality I was making quite some meh content. Then I started to learn Blender, and so on (for which I'm very glad I did). I mod from time to time simply for fun and knowing I created something nice others can have fun with too.
For me it was the lack of in-game Diesel Engines, and my obsession with turbochargers and small, efficient and powerful new engines, you just have to take a look at my Street Pack mod tho. Then I have the Oil Coolers pack that comes because of my obsession (again) with cooling I also tried to mod something in Assetto Corsa (TDI Engines, change rims, bumpers) but I don't have the knowledge to do it yet, so I moved to BeamNG Drive, I found it easy because of the high modding community it has.
I was playing with the VW Polo WRC back then and I was a bit disappointed that the new livery wasn`t included, so I looked up how to make skins. I started making skins for the Polo WRC and the Zakspeed Capri. I never made the livery but i was proud of my other skins which were really terrible now looking at them. With the FR16 everything started t really kick off..
I haven't started modding yet but the inspiration will be the fact that I will spend my life's worth and an arm and a leg for people's entertainment. It's always caught me but I just never have the "just do it" push that everyone else has.
BeamNG had no Hummer-like vehicle in it from when I started playing, so I decided to take things in my own hands
I started with a Skyrim mod with custom NPC's and voice for a school project to do something else than the rest. After that I modded besiege and some more Skyrim stuff, until I discovered BeamNG. I bought this game and 1-2 months later, I started playing with files.
There is no word enough in me, nothing is enough, I always seek more, if there are borders I just have to go beyond them. So I had Test Drive II the duel, I had Stunts, it was not enough, which resulted lot of playing with hex editor, back then there was no web pages so had to figure things out myself. I haven't really been interested about graphical side of the modding, even I'm now lately been learning to it and while modeling is much more relaxing than attempting to figure out why suspension acts weird, graphical stuff is not really my thing. When I downloaded first mods for BeamNG (I did not play much with vanilla content first, I guess it was same day I bought the came that I downloaded first mods), I could not drive them, torque curves, handling etc. were so wrong, I guess those were not the best quality mods, so before I could drive, I had to fix them. It tends to be that mod makers have often different priorities, quite often visual appearance is given more time than inner workings and then for me inner workings are more priority, which creates often need to 'improve' that what is. I guess it is more of bringing existence closer to my imagination that anything else. Learning just is bit slow these days, but I'm slowly learning while building things which hopefully others can enjoy too. As a disclaimer I must point out that when I write I found something being wrong in mod, it means more of being not in line of how I perceive realism and how I see perfect realism being fun, it is just different in viewpoint, for some others viewpoint can be that realism is not fun and they are not any more wrong than I am. I hope no one gets hurt from having different views. Surely many have same views too.
Desire to make something that no one has made. For example, he didn't have any modern hatchbacks until my Sunburst Hatch. Maybe it isn't the best mod out there, but it's decent.
