Should the name be changed? If so, what should this vehicle be named?

Your'e right, it does! It's doors will be similar to gullwings, but not quite the same. They will be more like the doors on the NIO EP9.

Just a little update. I rounded out the other side of the door seal, and raised the bottom of it as well. The front looks a bit off for some reason, i'll tweak that until it looks right. You can see there are some shading issues, but most of those will be covered by body panels anyway. After taking a look at reference images, i realized that i will need to adjust the mesh at the back of the cabin so that it begins to curve inwards immediately after the door seal, hopefully I won't run into issues when reworking that area. :)

That's all I'm going to do for today.

I made a few changes by adjusting the shape of the door seal, as well as the front and rear of the frame. I also added cutouts to the side of the frame to allow for slightly larger battery packs. The exterior of the frame is nearly done. I'm keeping most of it simple because it will be almost entirely covered by body panels. Next, I plan on modeling the electric motors, batteries, and suspension (or the wheels).

On that note, what do you think the design of the wheels should be? I'll have to take a look at the existing ETK wheels for inspiration, but if you have suggestions please let me know! :)

Well, they should be huge. Like 22 inch or something ridiculous like that. Probably 5 spoke, they don’t always like to over complicate them. Inspiration could come from cars like the BMW i8, Ford GT and Peugeot Onyx

I'll keep that in mind. I looked up those cars, and to be honest I like the Onyx wheels the most. I'll draw a few sketches after collecting reference images from that car and wheels in the game.

It is very blocky. I think the rest of the details can be done in texturing. It's size may be tweaked later when i make the body panels. As far as Jbeam, the battery packs and the body panels covering them will both be separate objects that can fall off.

I added a poll to this thread, so you can choose what this car should be named. Ion was removed because that name is already taken by Saturn. If you have final suggestions for the name, now is the time. :)

The poll will close on the 15th.

So I was thinking and had an idea for the name, although I have no idea if it’s any good or not.

You could call it the ETK- E series, E being for electric.

Thanks for the suggestion, I think that would be a good name as well! ETK E-Series was considered in the past, but somebody informed me that they had already planned to use the name for a mod they were making. So, E-Series ended up being replaced by Z-series in the list. If you have any other ideas, I will update the poll with your suggestion and extend the closing date. :)

So, it looks like Tesla will be using rocket technology to increase the performance of their second generation Roadster. BeamNG has thruster capabilities, so i wonder if there's some way i could do the same thing to the Eon. Maybe it could be part of a separate config with advanced performance technology. I will experiment with this later on and see what happens... :)

    ETK Roadster?

It's not the brightest name, but "roadster" is not copyrighted or trademarked, so It's totally usable!

That might be a possible name, but I don't think it would make much sense to call it a roadster considering that the placement of it's door hinges would not allow for a removable roof. This mod will not be based on the Tesla roadster in any way either. The thruster experiment is just a fun idea that is inspired by the new information in that video. :D

WIP 20-22" 5-spoke wheels. Note that the colors are placeholders, and are only there to show contrast between areas of the wheel that will have different textures. The blue will be exposed carbon fiber and the red will be painted chrome or the body color. It's not as smooth as i'd like it to be, and only the front face is progressed far enough to show what the final shape will be. With that said, what are your thoughts?

So what does the car actually look like (so far)? This thread is for the car, not as much the name.
