Can I ask is the wheelbase extremely square because it doesnt turn exactly could you add in possibly an additional meter to the chassis to make it from a suspected square wheel base into more of a rectangular wheel base to address the steering issues
I think this short bus is a great basis for a motorhome or flatbed hauler conversion. Up to a challenge?
Found a bug, probably caused by this mod. Driveshaft is in the place of short bus axle on normal bus as well. It pops down when going through bumps.
Would an additional meter in the middle be needed to help sort out the steering on the vehicle? I am just asking
Steering problems are caused by the engine being too heavy. If you use this and select the "customizeable engine" it's the right weight and drives better (50kg*8 nodes, instad of 125*8). Long explanation: As the bus layout and wheel pressure hint, the intended weight distribution is minimum 1/3 at the front axle and 2/3 or less at the rear. People would distribute themselves randomly on the bus,so they won't noticeably impact the weight distribution. Since the wheelbase was shortened, but the rear overhang was not, the front of the bus is no longer far enough to balance the engine lever. If such a small bus was built IRL, it would be equipped with a smaller and lighter engine both because of this, and because there's less metal and people to haul around. This might allow for other components to be downsized (engine mounts, struts and the like), further improving performance. This is a good mod, but compatibility with previous ones should be taken into account. Also the engine should be a lower weight by default. General drag/resistance should be reduced compared to the standard Wentward. Thank you for making it public, keep it up!
Yeah at the moment it sort of "Jumps" around a bit and you cant get that turning radius correctly, this isnt Razor from Robot wars its a big bus, it needs the rectangular wheelbase for turning rather than turning on a dime thats what Razor did (google it btw)
noted, i'll see if I can fix that. also, regarding the discussion about the bus having wonky weight distribution, it's designed that way, almost as if a farmer got bored and chopped the middle out of it (literally, there is no modification outside of the join in the middle.)
