I was cruising on my favorite Road, then this happend:

    IMG_0001.jpg IMG_0006.jpg
    IMG_0004.jpg

I did not expect them to stop mid corner, so i braked way to late.

No big damage, my bumber has a few small cracks more, the bumber of the Mercedes had a scratch.

I gave them (an eldery Couple) my Number, so if they have any repair cost i will pay them. I didn´t call the Police.

What is your Opinion on this?

Looks as if the Mercedes was at fault, although I may change my mind when I've seen the mp4 file.

Yeah, the Mercedes was at fault after viewing the mp4.

Mercedes shouldn't have stopped like that, but they're old and probably had slower reactions so thought it was the safest option. I'd say that nobody is really to blame here.

Driving through a blind Corner in the middle of the Road is also a nice behavior

If you stop, no matter how fast, no matter for what reason, and get hit from behind, you are certainly not at fault. If you ram someone from behind due to failing to keep proper distance, you are certainly responsible for the crash.

Still, is your fault for not having the right safety distance

They still managed to avoid colliding with oncoming traffic, but you failed to avoid colliding with them.

You are at fault if you do something called "brake checking" someone, it's where you slam on the brakes when someone's behind you, that's a case of brake checking thus the Mercedes is at fault.

It is your job to keep distance, not his to check if your keeping it.

If the dude had "kept his distance" from the Mercedes, likely the same thing would've happened to the car behind given the most likely space on one of these country roads....

    Do you even use logic?
"I violated traffic rules and crashed because I feared someone else would violate traffic rules and crash, therefore my violation doesn't count and people I crashed into are responsible"
though this might be too much to understand for you

    You're starting an argument.
Right, let me teach you logic.
If you do not give space or time for someone to react, then you are at fault.
It's like brakechecking someone constantly and then crying when they accidently leave a dent on your bumper :/
If you want to start a conversation and argue there then I'm perfectly fine with it, but atleast have the decency to not argue offtopic stuff in a thread, thanks.

The silver Mercedes wasn't at fault, they didn't do anything wrong tbh. They stopped cause there was no room(look at the truck trailer across the whole road) and a reflector in the way

You were going to quick for that road anyway, it can barely fit 2 cars on it.
Keep a safe distance, not just for stopping time but your reaction times too.

Arguing about who is at fault in the crash in a thread about that crash is not offtopic by any means, so your defence is invalid. You were proven wrong, but still try to retaliate by any means, no matter how childish and stupid they are.

Not enough safety distance to the merc and unapropriate speed for that road (no matter what signs might have said) -> your fault
but just a few scatches, who cares on an Opel;):D

well it seems as though the open (yolo's car) was going to maintain the right side of the road in this blind corner.
    Mercedes the opposite much so
Yes there is a trailer but I feel the merc peeps panicked since they corrected their line then saw the trailer and continued to brake relatively quick
as for reaction times I would say the distance is valid, it is safe, we have Merc vs opel, I am guessing the more expensive vehicle is the Merc
I would just say the merc is at fault, they weren't really "maintaining their lane"
and as far as speed, both are the same relatively, if this older couple was going to take the turn as fast as the opel was going then speed is fine
my say in who's fault it is, is this:
Merc didn't maintain the proper "lane"
