gonna start with, im sorry if my English is bad :/

hello, i love beamng for the awesome physic it provide, i got a Logitech g27 a while ago and i was realy happy cuzz this game + a nice steering wheel must be crazy for racing but more for drifting, but its been a while now ive try to tune my ffb soo it drift properly but i cant -.-! ffb work but its doesnt do the job when it come to drift,,i dont know how i can explain my problem, so i will post a link to a video of showing what i cant make it work on beamng so here it is.

as you can see in this video the steering will go by it self to center the car , i hope you will understand and i hope some1 has an idea how i could tune my ffb so it do this.

As far as I know, BeamNG "suffers" from bad FFB... So there isn't really anything you can do

Don't listen to that silly person. BeamNG FFB is the best I have ever used in ANY game, and I've played them all.
Most don't have any clue how to set up the FFB properly, especially for a game like this one.
My steering with my g25 wheel self steers just like the one in your video.
First, right click your logitech tray icon and go to game controllers, then hit properties.
Now go to settings, then set Spring, Damper, and Centering Effects to 0%.
In beam FFB settings, set max strength to 10 for now, and load up a map and the app called FFB Graph.
The wiki has most specifics on how to use this graph and set up all the other settings in beam.
The idea is to find the right force strength for your wheel that gives every detail possible, too high and all the details clip out like what happens with really bad sound quality or too much volume. After you find the right settings, use the hopper and smash a front wheel into something to find the right maximum setting you want.
For reference, my current g25 settings are:
    Strength > 240
    Strength(low speed) > 40
    Max strength > 8
    Slow smoothing > 120
    Fast smoothing > 100

With these setting my feedback feels amazing, and with all the self steer I expect from a real car.
Another thing to note however, most cars are not drift cars and are not set up to do exactly what that video shows.
For more drifting, set rear tow more negative, and set caster more positive for more self steering.

    A correction for both sides,
BeamNG.drive doesn't have bad FFB, but it's also not perfect. Adjusting the many settings ingame and in the driver panel greatly help with realism and it feels freat, but it doesn't feel exactly like my car IRL.
Play around with settings, use a response correction curve, and compare to a real car.

I guess it depends on the car one drives in the real life. My cars sure as heck seemed real close to the similar cars ingame.
Another thing to consider is that these wheels we use for gaming are toys compared to the real thing, never going to feel as real no matter what any game does.
Also, didn't say anything about perfect. Just better than any other game I had hoped would be as good.
This is the only game I have actually bothered to drift in because I can feel enough through the FFB, plus the appropriate behavior of the wheel really helps. It works so naturally compared to other games, I can use all my real life skills and reflexes without issues(besides the butt g-meter).

Yes I do. Or just go through the control panel > hardware and sound > devices and printers > right click G27 and hit controller settings, etc.

Maybe it depends on the car you are driving? In the video the drift car would have a faster steering ratio, so less total steering wheel rotations from lock-lock.
Some cars in beam have quick ratio steering you can put on in the parts menu, see if that helps.

i mosly use the 200bx and the old pessima to drift, the 200bx steering will go alot faster then the old pessima, i use drift steering on both of them, but still i feel the steering is still slow, not enought to drift to drift on a corner to another, but man befor that i couldnt get the steering to move at all lol i had to manualy turn it to continue the drift, at least now it feel more how its supose to be but not at 100%, i hope the dev will some day work on the ffb :)

I'm having the same problem as described... I've tried different cars and have played with all of the G27 settings, both profiler and ingame, and there's no way, the wheel won't catch the drift by itself like it would do in any other sim or in real life (yes, I know what I'm talking about)... Any ideas? I have read all the info I could find on this and still no luck :(

What sim have you played that does this(without fake centering forces)? I am curious. IRL you would need a very specific car setup and damn good throttle control.
Try adding more caster, start with 5-10%, add more if needed. Also increase front camber. None of the cars in the game currently have a fast enough steering ratio for drifting like this(too many rotations lock to lock). Try also leaving the ingame force weaker and add like 5-7% to 'Overall Effects Strength'. As long as you keep the Spring, Damper, and Centering forces at 0% and your beam settings are decent you should get at least some self steering, more so with more caster angle. Electric motors does not equal steering rack unfortunately so maybe give the wheel a light toss in the direction it is supposed to go to help it out a little. Even in real life many cars steer and feel very different from each other. I am sure the developers will be continuing to improve the feel and realism, game is still WIP.

Have you maybe tried to change the steering to drift steering in the parts ingame? Some cars have that as an option for a quicker steering

I've yet to confirm this, but it seems if you set your wheel's maximum steering angle in the settings (say, 900), and the car you are driving has a larger steering angle, it will peed up half way through giving the wheel a non-linear feel. When I drive IRL, it's very smooth and you don't have to move the wheel too much to move the car, while in Beam you have to move it quite a bit because of the non-linear motion.
The settings menu is linear, it's the degree setting that changes it, unless it's only superficial.

Something else to consider is that not all cars in beam have the same steering feel/realism. Like comparing the 200bx vs. ETK I-Series.
200bx has not so great feel and is slow/likes to stay where it is while the etk feels nice and likes to move on its own.
I am definitely using the drift steering, in the 200bx for example, but it still has too many turns of the steering wheel itself. Real drift steering has less rotations similar to race steering. The steering wheel in the 200bx with drift steering turns many more degrees than the one in that video for example.
I have not had any issues with linearity myself(set to 1), like other games, beam is adapting cars with more wheel rotations(like the trucks) onto 900 degrees.
Which makes the whole range 'more sensitive'. Easiest way to check is with the pickup/semi/bus, right from the smallest movement from center the wheel ingame moves a bit more depending on the vehicle, seems like it has more sensitivity further in because the difference is cumulative but is still linear.

Also, 200bx doesn't have as much max steering angle that a real drift build would have, not to mention the stock geometry vs the heavily modified real thing. And the real drifters don't use racing slicks..

It's logical to adapt the in-game rotation to the real life rotation when it is more, for ex the rl wheel moves 900 degrees, and the in-game one moves more, but my question is, can the devs limit the real life rotation if the in-game wheel moves less? For example the Covet Track wheel moves about 810 degrees i believe, so can't the devs limit the rl wheel movement to that amount, like Assetto Corsa does?

They could for sure, one game I know for sure that does this very well is Live For Speed.

The ffb works much better at high fps, so consider that. Less smoothing and over saturated force level will help too for drifting. As well, you can add caster to the suspension tuning which will make the self steering forces stronger.
