Nope, too expensive for Abdul Tang-Nowherski. Also, SUVs started out in rich countries, because the Americans, Brits, Swiss or Japanese didn't need to keep appearances up with a sedan.
I do plan to buy a few rare cars, the one I find most enduring is the US-spec Civic Wagon. It's probably a bit easier to find parts, although I'd be lucky if I can even get the car at all.
Speaking of rare cars, I would like to have Renault Vel Satis especially with 2.0T petrol engine, because registration taxes are lower than 3.5 V6 here. Plus, its cheap, you can find decent Vel Satis for 2500-3000€ (at least here in Serbia, its probably lower in e.g. Germany).
does an old school monster truck count? the old school 5 ton Rockwell axles are getting harder and harder to find. then the classic Ford 460s are starting to become rare, and the Predator carbs are very hard to find in working condition. Tires and wheels are expensive if bought brand new.
Where, in Eastern Europe? This is because almost all Yarises were bought locally and almost all Vel Satises come from Western Europe, having unknown history. I'd totally own a Vel Satis as a complementary car, but I'd choose the 3.5 V6. If getting into trouble with an unreliable car, let it at least be powerful.
This. A lot of good but not marketable cars were sent to Eastern Europe during scrappage schemes. More often then not, plates were written off but cars weren't actually scrapped, flooding eastern europeans used car markets instead.
lots of rare cars are not rare because they are cool, they are rare because they were crap from the factory. But I would have only certain rare cars. I have a 1964 buick lesabre 2 door hardtop sport coupe with a 300 aluminum engine with a 4 barrel carbonator and high performance drum brakes. This car was SUPER rare because of the sport coupe options. The engine that's in the car is worth way more than the car.
I wouldn't like an especially rare car, simply due to the fact that I would be scared to drive it. Cars that aren't driven are the cars that break.
I would own a rare car but I would have to have a qualified mechanic to look after it if it was to break down or anything of the sort like that
I'd love to have a ph 2 renault safrane 2.5 20V with manual as it is really luxurious and has a cool 5 cyl engine and they are cheap Another cool option would be Vel satis 2.0T or a 3.5 V6 (nissan 350Z engine) with LPG injection, so I would not have to go bancrupt by trying to fill it up. A different approach could be going for an unique version of a common car like a 1996-1998 Renault Megane Coupe, BUT with the 2.0 16V engine as it was the same williams engine used in a clio williams and it was the only version with 4 wheel disc brakes (the front being ventilated) and it had a different rear suspension.
the 2000-2002/3 were okay, then from about 2003-2006 they were terrible and from 2007 they are okay. And since Vel Satis was produced till 2009 with the post face lift model the electronics shouldn't be more of a problem than any BMW or Merc.
Lol, Renaults do handle great, even the non performance models. German cars were just used by me as an example, also they are just stiff which makes driving not as fun as with renault's soft and slightly floaty suspension.
