Last year I saw one going for about 700-2500€ (don't remember the exact price) on mobile.de. It was used for dirt racing by some rednecks, so the body was covered in huge dents, the driver seat and the dash were the only remains of interior and the latter had some pieces sawed out of it. Awful. But I'd still give it a go if I wanted it. Just buy an ordinary Escort with failed engine for 200€, dismantle it, throw freshly sourced parts on instead of damaged or missing ones and voila. Then sell the donor and banged up metal parts for scrap.

Well, I would prefer that. Also, I'm atleast happy that Mitsubishi didn't revive the Chariot, since the Eclipse Cross made me lost faith in Mitsubishi revivals, as it stole the name of an great star of it's prime time into an crossover that has less to do with the original than an Century from 2018 with an old Nissan President. Where would Ford Motor Company go then? I find them a bit mixed. The 2019 Connect Wagon is great, but the 2017 Fiesta is an disgrace to the older models.
Naming a crossover after a coupe is very historically appropriate. After all, the coupes of the past - Celicas, Thunderbirds, Mustangs, Capris - were like crossovers: normal sedans, tarted up to be fashion accessories on wheels.
Doesn't mean they needed to use the Eclipse name, because I'm sure that other Mitsubishi were coupes before as well. Using an name like that makes the insult stronger, especially for the fans of the original car.
Well, why not use some other name, like Raider? Atleast that seems more fitting, unless Eclipse describes to name how **** your eyes get seeing that, just like in a real Solar Eclipse. It's also just a average (or below average) Japanese crossover, nothing else to say.
