I kindly disagree with your opinion, and here's why: What you have seen is the minority of the forum for which that does not work. What you are not seeing (and that's good), is all the other reports we receive and are solved almost immediately. Most people do follow that philosophy, and when they do it helps us to keep this place somewhat clean. A similar example is what your internet works fine for various years straight, you don't really give that much attention. But when suddenly it breaks for 1-2 days, suddenly you start thinking your ISP has been incompetent and bad. Kind of shitty example, but at least here that's what most comments under their social profiles are about. People who simply do not have problem do not comment about the good service, it's mainly the vocal minority who is not having a good service. Translate that into a forum with some thousands of members and you will see that just because of a vocal/toxic minority, the whole place is affected. We are always open to suggestions. Feel free to PM about your ideas in details. They will come back at some point. Certainly having to deal with drama and stuff like that steals our time from other, more constructive, things. At the end of the day, all of this happens because the basics of manners and net-etiquette is completely missing or not applied from some users when using forums and similar services. Like you would not want to deal with a rude person that can't threat you well in real life, it's not much different. That's bad, and would not guarantee those a long stay here.
So you think the whole report and move on thing does work? It never seemed that way to me, after all of the events I watched unfold here over the past months.
It works for the most part. You feel it doesn't work, as you are not seeing 80-90% of the things that are reported, as they are dealt with much before. Because all that part past the report is invisible to you, it does not meant it does not work. (Pretty much repeated was I already said above) What's left are specific problems related to how some users here behave. As said above, the basics of 'manners' and of 'how to relate to people' is missing for them. That's the toxic/vocal part I was mentioning earlier. If they cannot fix that, they will not stay here any longer. Reports are part of pretty much any forum and similar sites out here. They serve to bring bad stuff to the attention of who can deal with them, which is not you users. You are not supposed to do your own "justice", as that often just creates more mess. Hence why ignore and report, let us deal with that. EDIT: In addition to the last paragraph, not all reports are immediate to deal with. Some of them are complicated situations and so on, so please don't think it's always a click that can solve them. V Also what's written below me
If it doesn't work, it's because some people would rather feed the fire than help put it out. I understand that the urge to go off on someone can be a strong one, but at the very least it should be fairly easy to tell the difference between a genuine troll and a misguided but legitimate member. The person at the center of this drama has been, to the best of my thin knowledge, a member in good standing for quite some time and has made mods before based on dev content. No troll will go to that much time & effort just to cause a night of drama. If you think he's messed up somewhere, there's a nice way to say it.
People of Fufsgfen find this difficult, we are born without such feature, which some humans have and do without thinking. People of Fufsgfen has to work very hard to accomplish same result without this feature, substituting logic and reasoning for emotion and trying to figure out by those how another will receive the message, but even at best we can only mimic that feature, which makes sometimes people of Fufsgfen sad as our message is not understood at all how we thought. Fufsgfen has learned that there are also those among human's that have born without such feature and those also have to work very hard to understand even a little how this relating to others feature should work. Perhaps missing of such feature is bit more common among persons interested in modding than what generally is among people and perhaps some of challenges with message delivery and reception stems from that. You should of seen how bad it is at planet Fufsgfen, where most are lacking this feature, some might think it is easier when all are similar, but actually it is better than there are different kinds, much better.
Agree. People are too emotionally attached to this forum. Every time a troll thread is created or a fight breaks out they are like "oh no my favorite place is now ruined what am I going to do now".
On the walk between the train station and school a fairly sketchy looking person asked me to hook them up. When I ignored them they asked for the location of the nearest TD bank and said "thanks, have a nice day" and immediately crossed the street... There's a couple of things which that could have been but I don't really like any of them...
