Except for the fact that it's heavier than other configurations, more complicated than other configurations, costs much more than other configurations, is just as dangerous to drive in bad bad conditions... Unmatched tires is a death sentence Fuel economy is greatly reduced They're almost impossible to launch without the use of electronic aids AWD will always win my ass.
Well, how can somebody butcher an Camaro harder than GM, which has happened? Micheal Bay. Proof here: It looks like an Frankenstein of the Code concepts, Camaro (2016), Captiva (2012), and even an Focus RS-inspired bumper design (2016). But... I'd wish that it was stock for design, because I swear it looks like some inside joke for an Camaro.

I actually like the idea of a supercheap (at least for the segment) car that you can buy for less than the minimum wage can earn in a month, beat to hell and repair with junkyard parts. Peugeot 205, FSO Polonez, VW Polo Mk2/3, ARO 243, Ford F-Series, Chevrolet Cavalier, Volvo 740... - you name it, it's got an appeal to me.
[QUOTE="redrobin, post: 801643, member: 333"is just as dangerous to drive in bad bad conditions Unmatched tires is a death sentence They're almost impossible to launch without the use of electronic aids[/QUOTE] The rest of your points I agree with, but are these any more true with a AWD car than a RWD car? Are any of them more true with a FWD car than dangerous to drive in bad conditions?
I just found this random Picture of a 2007-14 Suburban with a Silverado's front end Why do this looks so normal to me, like I feel like I saw this before.

Here's a story I have about the Infiniti QX4, so my parents got D-I-V-O-R-C-E in 2004 and my mother took me and my sister to Arizona in like 2006, so like 3 years pasted and I had a step father named Tony, he came from Turkey and he was pretty much a father for me into 2012 when he had a heart attack, yeah I was pretty sad when he died, but he had a Infiniti QX4 and it was a pretty okay SUV, but in the latter years of Tony's life it started to be shitty, and my mom got ripe off by some mechanics said they were going to repair it, but instead they took the parts off it and sold them to chop shops, the moral of the story is My like is shit.
An AWD car doesn't stop or steer any better than any other drive train in hazardous conditions (ice, snow, etc), and there's common misconception that they do. Put unmatched tires on an AWD car (Helical systems damn near specifically) and watch your diffs explode. Go ahead and try launching an AWD car with a stick and get back to me.
Proof. That's true, but you have to pay the price for improved stability and offroad performance. What's the problem with combining AWD and manual transmission? There are tons of cars like that.
I drive an AWD Subaru with a manual so I can pitch in here with some of my experiences. AWD is great for getting going, but it's heavier than FWD and RWD and doesn't offer any other advantage in corners besides being able to exit faster. There's a reason why most top-tier time attack cars are RWD. Weight has a lot of effect on how fast you can corner. As for having a manual and AWD - you can't launch the car like you would with a RWD or FWD car because you'll destroy the drivetrain. That doesn't mean you can't make decent starts, but it does make it a lot harder to do so without destroying the car.
