Binkey submitted a new resource: Agassiz Speedway - A quarter-mile oval track located in British Columbia, Canada. Read more about this resource...
Hello everyone, I'm trying my best to get the AI to drive fast around the track. I set the maps driveablility to 1, but the AI brakes at every corner and slows down way too much. The only way I've found to make them even slightly challenging is to remove all their brakes. I've tagged a couple of pro AI modders in my main post, so hopefully I can get in contact with them and get this map to be an awesome race track with challenging AI and insane carnage!
Its probably because the AI would be designed to go around a track that is flat and they dont take into account the fact that it can go faster with the high banked turns. --- Post updated --- Great map by the way. The track is basically identical to real life from what ive seen on the interwebs.
Thanks man, I now kinda regret not making the area around the track bigger, but I just wanted it to be easy to run with lots of cars racing on the track.

This is a fun little oval to run some of the cars around. Recorded two videos on it, one of me testing out replays and lapping as fast as I could with the Sunburst Hillclimb, Barstow Lancehead and Burnside Special, and another of me playing around with the AI in the Burnside.
Would ya look at this was scrolling through my video feed and YBR made a video of your track 3 hours ago.
First of all, just wanted to say that this map is astonishingly good! It's the first short track in beam and hopefully not the last, considering just how well the covet represents a mini-stock vehicle! The added AI support now makes rudimentary racing possible, and I can't wait until a real version is implemented. As a fellow canadian, there's loads of short tracks I could request, but I think the most realistic that you could really do justice is Flamboro Speedway in Flamborough Ontario. It has a small kart track on the inside and a set of dirt pits on the outside, but the surrounding areas wouldn't be too hard to model or nearly as intense on graphics as the areas around this track. I think the google textures for the areas are quite highly detailed (may be wrong though)!
Firstly, you have to have the AI control app, which can be activated via the UI Editor on the menu bar while in-game. After the app is placed on your screen, switch to the vehicle you'd wish to have AI. Make sure the AI is on the main track (the only place with working AI) and set the AI to either chase, flee or random (I recommend random if you plan on racing the AI.) Also, you can now set the speed of the AI to make it go faster around the track and make it more challenging. I hope I explained this well enough, and you if you're still confused send me a PM. Thanks for the kind words! I will be sure to add "Flamboro Speedway" to my ideas list. I can't guarantee I'll get it finished anytime soon, I have so many suggestions already.
Every time I open the map since the last update the map never loads in I was just wondering will the be an update to fix this
Very interesting that you mention that. I have been thinking about this map and considering overhauling it to be better quality. I have been very busy lately balancing school, work, and a social life but now that I'm out of school, I may get back into modding.
I hope that school went well and thank you for the reply I hope you are able to make changes to this map as it is by far the best map ive played its simple buy amazing I hope you the best
Sorry to bump this thread, the track has worked ever since 2016 up until the latest BeamNG update which has broken the textures for the walls, grass, mud and trees. Can this be fixed? --- Post updated --- Sorry to bump this thread, the track has worked ever since 2016 up until the latest BeamNG update which has broken the textures for the walls, grass, mud and trees. Had a go at mending it myself, I've fixed the infield and the grass but the barriers, trees and a bit of the tarmac still has no textures. Haven't got a clue how to fix this but if anyone who knows what they're doing would be kind enough to sort it, that's be great.
