spy_lo and I are working on another famous race track. Bigger and better seems to be the logical step right? Im 8-10 hours into the task of poly editing the track and terrain together... Pretty simple process, but with 20Km of road, its not quick. I made a spline out of the outer edge of the track, extruded it into a poly object and boolean combined it to make the cutout. Then its just a ton of polygon work to clean up the new terrain edges and level it to the track. No LIDAR in rural Germany, so 25m DEMs will have to do. I added a turbo smooth modifier on top to smooth out the blocky grid a little.
the first one's model was bad the second ram had too many stuffs which will cause the game to lag the 3rd ram was a one piece imported from nfs 2010
