And just as I thought, the plugs in my car are basically fused to the cylinder head. Shit. I found my PB Blaster though, so that's something ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
RE self driving It is probably not going to leave cities for a long time, since in the US over 100 billion is spent to keep our roads in their current shabby state. Never mind how much it will cost to fix 90% of all our roads to be autonomous ready and, it is very unlikely that most people would be able to afford them plus there is issues with computers and weight especially if said self driving car is electric.
The computers don't weigh much. But yeah, it is kinda interesting the road repair thing. Common to many countries. The government deliberately pays to have road repairs done to a poor standard of work not to save money as it costs them more overall, but to keep jobs. It's actually one of the crudest tricks going to stimulate an economy and fairly common
I want to murder people who do this. --- Post updated --- I mean, this guy isn't too bad,but other people who get rims that look similar to that in size 26 and put them on their 2011 Honda Civic are like... *Intense shutter*
I mean, this guy isn't too bad,but other people who get rims that look similar to that in size 26 and put them on their 2011 Honda Ac The rims. This is just a slight example. Here is what I mean
It isn't too bad. It's not like it's the end of the world. And with that SUV, I didn't even notice the thing with those rims.
It's gonna rain tomorrow, spark plugs still soaking in about 15 gallons of PB Blaster, still won't budge
@redrobin Ha, spark plugs, sucker. Ignition by compression is great. The self driving stuff, I agree that it's going to be a long time before that's the norm, and I'm glad. Even when the majority of cars on the road are self driving and it's frowned upon to drive yourself on public roads, I doubt most of them will be capable enough to drive on dirt back roads, which mean I'll have an excuse to drive myself when I go off-roading/camping. The issue there though is that there might not be any dirt back roads left if all the hippies turn them into wilderness areas for their naked yoga and leaf eating shenanigans.
Who knows? Hopefully it will still be acceptable to drive yourself. As much as I'd be interested in going for a ride in a self driving car, I'd like to be able to do my own driving. Also, hippies are still a thing? I thought that ended decades ago.
Well we have the 3rd gen hippies which who are also know as SJWs and that's where I'm going to end it before it turns into a shit show.
Weren't hippies like completely different from SJWs? And what was the 2nd gen? I'm guessing 1st gen was the 60's hippies?
Yup, diesel is amazing... Except for when your valuable glow plugs give out, like happened to my employer's box truck today. Oh, it has a governing issue too which stops it from exceeding 60 MPH. That's a 30 second clip of about 3-5 minutes of non-stop trying. It eventually got going. (Yes, it was warm today (~55F)) (Yes, that fuel gauge is quite pessimistic, it actually had about 4 or 5 gallons in the tank)
If I ever scrape up my wheels I'd like to put the smaller 18" wheels on and go for thicker tires for more road isolation, but I'm 90% sure they won't fit over my brakes. Even my spare has a huge wheel with a tiny tire.
If it was 55 and you had that much difficulty starting there might be other issues. My "wait to start" light usually only comes on for a bulb check at that temperature. Also, everybody says glow plugs but I'm pretty sure most modern diesels have a glow screen, at least that's what my truck has.
For the last 50 years, the car technology trickle-down rule has been S-Class plus 10-15 years. That is to say when the S-Class is fully self driving, then we'll be 15 years from the Corolla having it too. This has been suprisingly consistent throughout history and I'll bet that's how it'll work this time too.
