This is Strecke 161, a fictional ring road around Tangermünde, one of the oldest towns in Germany. With plenty of gas stations, forests and bridges, this will be a fast and scenic road to drive on. The Tangermünde ring road was built for tourism, and as with the rest of the early autobahn network, layout and design was largely influenced by a monumental aesthetic. The pictures below do not represent the final version
Use freeway texture from my maps if you need them, they are free for anyone making a map for Beamng. West coast has some highway texture too. While it is a good thing to see someone make a highway map here, Using 2d tree walls up against the road (in screenshot with bridge in it, just past the bridge), is not recommended. The ones on the sides are fine, but if they come close to the roadway it can really break the immersion. 2d tree walls are fine to hide behind a wall of thick 3d trees though (where you can't really notice them) and is the same way it's done in most games, to hide the edge of the map. Use trees from the forest brush like East Coast, they should blend very well for here. Placing trees in your forest brush with the forest brush tools gives you the power of unlimited trees for your map (they don't count towards the 4096 item limit per-map), and is only limited by the amount of RAM on the host computer (only matters for super-large maps like American Road or my Roane County map). --Best of luck there.
Thanks, the road textures are being made by @VeyronEB and I'm currently using place holder, same goes for the trees. I dont want to use 3d trees because there will be over 60km of highway and I want this map to be playable for most people.
Okay sounds great, anything to add more highway in to this game, that's awesome. Why limit it to 60km? Definitely good to see you still in action here!
Thanks, the game seams to bug out after more than 20km, the cam starts to shake. New textures as seen on dev screens.
seems nice so far! Do you need any help with creating german signs ( I could translate stuff from English to German if you want), or are you going to use some official signs, that you just copy them into the game?
