New "vehicles", eh? I'm assuming that the Bluebuck is one of these vehicles, as it was stated a long while ago to be the next car up. Honestly, though, this makes me hopeful that we could see at least one car for 2018, which is great (as we haven't gotten a new car since 0.9, and are currently going through the longest new-car-less period since the wait between 0.3.0.5 and 0.3.1/0.3.2) Since 0.5.0, we've been having this pattern of roughly two vehicles from the 2012/2013 era, and then one vehicle that's a surprise ('88 Pessima, Burnside, 800 Series; Miramar, K-Series; I-Series, LeGran, Hopper). Seeing as the Bluebuck is most likely to be next, I reckon that it will be quickly followed by the Wendover (as that will be quite similar to the '88 Pessima in shape, and uses the LeGran's engine(s)). After that, though...I'm not sure.
Honestly, I don't think that the Wendover will ever come out. It's just too similar to the LeGran, there's even a Wendover mod for the LeGran.
Quite a few people have been waiting for the Wendover since it was first shown, and it's a lot bigger than the LeGran, as well (and it will be fun for demo-derby enthusiasts). It will happen, whether anyone wants it to or not.
I agree. While they have similarities, they have qualities about them that sets them apart. Another thing I should add, the Wendover will add another brand to the game, so that's something I welcome.
Are you talking about the Solidad 4000 mod? That just changes some aesthetic bits, it doesn't make it a heavy lethargic full-size car.
Soliad 4000? No, that thing looks nothing like the Wendover, I meant the Legran SW thats part of this mod.
You know, I've been thinking this statement over recently, and I think that it might mean that we could be getting the Bluebuck and Wendover in the same update - which would be quite unlikely - or we could be getting them one update at a time. Of course, it will most likely be the latter, but the Wendover's usage of the LeGran's engine/transmission/front suspension, as well as its similarities to the '88 Pessima in shape, mean that most of the major heavy lifting required to build it will be eliminated, with only the interior needing the most amount of work. That is, if it is not going to be needing any new parts JBeamed/modeled/textured. Considering that it's a higher-tier, full-size sedan, I reckon that it may have some unique options that the LeGran doesn't have. As for non-vehicle-related speculation, the fact that the Gavril V8 swap for the 200BX hasn't happened yet seems even stranger when considering these facts.... That Burnside 423 V8 is the one I'm most interested in, though; after all, it looks like a completely different engine compared to its "Barstow" source. Perhaps it's not a Barstow V8 that we have in the Burnside; it could very well be the Bluebuck's top-tier V8, which was perhaps used for a top-of-the-line "Burnside" edition of it. This would make a bit of sense, as the Bluebuck is meant to be a full-size sedan that is pretty much like an Impala (even sharing similar antelope-species names), and that was the top-of-the-line sedan at Chevrolet.
Don't forget, there has been speculation of an '80s (possibly Legran-based) station wagon that has been stuck in development since 2013, and we do know that a minivan was also considered at around the same time. It's possible - although a little farfetched - that the development team could be cooking up an update with multiple Legran-based vehicles released at once. If so, the "Platform Sharing Update" could be the first time multiple vehicles are released at once. With few or no unique engines to create, reused suspension components, and other shared interior features (it's quite possible that the Wendover may share the Legran's "sport" gauges on lower-tier models, with higher-end versions receiving a digidash), two or three vehicles could conceivably be developed simultaneously. Essentially, the only things necessary would be new bodies, certain minivan-exclusive interior components, and whatever other extra parts that the Beamng team thinks Bruckell should throw in. My pet theory is that there's a Mercury Cougar to the Barstow's Mustang. A Burnside that shared most of the Barstow's suspension components, but with an entirely separate notchback body. Engines between the two would probably be shared, with the exception of the I6 and the Burnside's largest V8.
I can't find the dedicated thread for the Soliad Wendover, what happened to it? Did it get deleted, or was there never one to begin with?
are we sure it was a Site error? *puts on funny lookin tin foil hat...... I do hope we some JUICY info next month
Something happened awhile ago where several random discussions were deleted due to a error revolving around old discussions with photos.
Yup. A good number of the vehicle discussion threads were affected. It made the original post into something completely different, which caused some issues.
