It's the rev limiter being realistic? But I have to admit drifting is a lot harder now because you can't hit the limiter.

Every car with time limiter is unreallistic for me, i've been testing the rev limiters in several games, including real life and only BeamNG gave me this feel.

I did a launch with a FWD car in real life when wet and in low grip surface (parking) and the speedo was at 42km/h when the car was cutting injection like crazy (Citroen btw), then I tested it in BeamNG and the car was like loosing power. Car ECUs don't work with time rev limiter.

BTW, i'm working in a VTEC Engine mod and I'm keeping the RPM drop rev limiter, I removed the time based one.

Also I noticed that the gasoline version of the ETK800 doesnt have rev limiter! It stays at the redline but not cutting injection, I checked that I wasn't on the diesel version, the car went up to 6.5k and the diesel engine only goes to 5.5k.

In the first video, you can still clearly hear the rev limiter when he launches the car; however, the engine revs up much faster (therefore hitting the rev limiter at a faster rate) because there is less restriction (no handbrake).
In the second video, it stays in "red" because the engine doesn't have enough power to rev to the RPM limiter, but it does eventually hit the limiter which can be heard aswell.

Simply put, the pessima uses a different RPM limiter than a civic (The pessima's limiter is time based, not RPM based), which makes the pessima cut spark for longer than the civic.

This is perfectly reallistic aswell. Take a look at this one:

The RPMs don't "bounce" as quickly as they do with the civic, because this car likely also has a time-based limiter.

I do not agree, because the 200bx or has a 1jz / 2jz or a famous old nissan engine (judging by the model) and they didnt have time based red limiter :v

I'm going to upload tonight or tomorrow a VTEC engine for the Pessima, the Covet isn't ready yet, it will take 2 or 3 days more. So you can play with 'em again, and as mucbh realistic and fun as possible, they have RPM Drop rev limiter... and btak SPAM xD

The engines in BeamNG are not modelled after real engines, so the type of rev limiter can be whatever the devs want...

Yes I agree on that, but the 200bx is a 200sx (yes or yes xD) and the engine, 6cyl, turbo, a lot of power, overtorque of 1200Nm = 1-2JZ! xD EDIT: IDK I'M WRONG

Yeah i'd say the 200BX is almost a direct copy of the 200SX. The engine is a turbo 4 cylinder though :p

This is how my G35 is in real life. It will hold the RPMs steady at 7500-7700 or so RPM.
