Re: Covet Expansion Pack : HX/HXi/HXi-T & GTi : 11/27 GTi Tournament! 1st place Prize! Your presentation it top notch. Way to go.
Re: Covet Expansion Pack : HX/HXi/HXi-T & GTi : 11/27 GTi Tournament! 1st place Prize! I just love the way the GTi drives! Are they AWD? They must be right? Its such a good rallycar. I cant understand how they didnt win any rallies with this
Re: Covet Expansion Pack : HX/HXi/HXi-T & GTi : 11/27 GTi Tournament! 1st place Prize! The GTi is AWD I have a laptop right now and I'll try to start making some adjustments to it and try to update it. There was an issue with the manual transmissions and they had to do some major changes to them to handle the abuse from rallying. The transmissions would slip real bad after abuse and it killed the power it had. That's why there wasn't any victories with the GTi.. If only they were allowed to use the legendary CVT then there would have been some victories.. **Also some news, I'll be updating the HX package as well. Its going to just be a full expansion pack. I'll be replacing the dxi setups also. Gonna follow the same scheme as the hx models. A new LX model will be introduced tll. It'll be the luxury model that will come as a separate car. It will come as its own vehicle with option interiors and a new DOHC 2.0l i-VVT engine that produces plenty of low end tq. This engine won't be a crazy fast engine. Its purpose is for luxury and more low end driving power. i-VVT will engage at 4500 to make up for the top end power. The engine produces its peak tq at 3800rpms. I think it will be a great addition.
Re: Covet Expansion Pack : HX/HXi/HXi-T & GTi : 11/27 GTi Tournament! 1st place Prize! With no entries in the 5 dollar challenge I'm just gonna cancel the tournament.
Re: Covet Expansion Pack : HX/HXi/HXi-T & GTi : 11/27 GTi Tournament! 1st place Prize! I would have entered, just too bad I do not have an awesome computer to record on. If only I had someone to recommend parts to me. *CoughJDMTotallyDidn'tRecommendPartsForMeAndIAmTotallyNotGettingOneForChristmasCough*
Re: Covet Expansion Pack : HX/HXi/HXi-T & GTi : 11/27 GTi Tournament! 1st place Prize! You should be able to handle the game just find when you get your PC put together.
Re: Covet Expansion Pack : HX/HXi/HXi-T & GTi : 11/27 GTi Tournament! 1st place Prize! All these models look epic
Re: Covet Expansion Pack : HX/HXi/HXi-T & GTi : 11/27 GTi Tournament! 1st place Prize! Ok, so I wanted to try and take a swing at something new.... 3D editing .. Keep in mind this is my first time trying to play around with the cars.. I'm not skilled but I would like to be.. Constructive criticism would be nice but dont be a complete swouch.. AND yes, I know its sketchup, I dont know how to use blender.. It's easier for me right now to learn with sketchup.. Trying to not be very ricey. Want this to look more like a factory upgrade for the GTi. Trying to make some Hood vents for the GTi to give it the classic evo look. If I can get this to work right and look pretty, I'll move on to doing a factory body kit and a factory spoiler and such. And maybe an interior boost gauge.. Little Update: Got it all cut down to the right setup. Looks good I'm proud of my self .. Hope It isn't getting too high poly though.. Learned a new trick in sketchup , anyways heres the hood now.. .. Proud of this, took 2 hours to make the grill the way it is so far, lots and lots of proper calculations etc.. The best im gonna get it.. So hard to keep things proportional in an angle. Going to think of some mesh design for the inlays of the grill and the hood cutouts. - - - Updated - - - Going to try to model the 1.2l turbo engine next. I'm thinking about reverse mounting the engine similar to the way the 2006+ civic si mount their engines. Theres a perfect location to run the exhaust from behind the motor. Plus I'm going to model the front bumper on the car to. It's going to have a custom front bumper with a proper housing for an intercooler. Tired of being one of those text mods, time to be a graphical mod
Re: Covet Expansion Pack : HX/HXi/HXi-T & GTi :1/8! Editing GTi's Mesh BLOG POST! Getting a Canvas ready to design the new front end, gonna be hard to make it look pretty but i intend on making it look good .. I am going for a stock factory kinda of design, nothing ricey. Heres an idea of the front bumper I'm going for: - - - Updated - - - Really need some opinions, how does a layout like this look? I will be adding a ton more detail this is more of an outline of the area. [with new lip]-> Heres what i'm stopping with for tonight, Each cutout now has its inserts or whatever you would call it.. Even though it leaves a lot to be seen, I plan to have an intercooler for the 1.2l stuff in that area. in game comparison -> (wont load mesh as in game vehicle, had to load as object) So far its turned out how I wanted it! I'm very proud of my work, may be sloppy but I've learned a lot with making this. I need to add the thickness to the bumper next. Once I add the thickness I'll move on towards the Engine and the Rear bumper, Just going to do some small changes and give the car a more aggressive(not rice bomb) muffler. When I design the engine I will have to change the exhaust some and jbeams i'm not good at.. But It will look good when its finished! UPDATE: Sexy Intercooler WIP.. Gotta run the pipes and such, also finished adding thickness to the bumper. Once I finish the intercooler and the piping off of it I will then prepare to do a motor swap lol. - - - Updated - - - Well I had a plan to originally make a LX version for the little mod pack and it was going include the i-VVT 2.0l engine, wasnt a very high output engine. It's more of a premium TQish engine. Similar to Honda's B20 engine. Well I think I'm going to use its engine, boost it to about 10psi and drop it in the GTi.. The numbers are pretty impressive. 265HP/272TQ.. I think it will be nicer and make more sense then a 1.2l turbo engine. The next GTi update I will probably be including the new mesh if I can get some help with importing it into the game.. And some more suspension tweaks. Engine bay is clean: WIP Engine, Will be using the 2.0l engine for this car. I wont go very high poly with the engine and such but you can see the turbo manifold I'm working with right now .. Have my limitations and they have some rough.. "welds" but they will do for me. -> Looks freaking nasty imo Also gabester, you had to make the space for running intercolling piping practically not possible. I want to run piping front the intercooler and I have an idea of a place to run it from.. Still though all the mesh on the inner fenders and by the radiator is just annoying lol. 1/10 Today I was mostly busy but I finished up the fuel injection and ran the intake piping to the intercooler, still need to make the turbo and stuff. Got to also make a BOV.
Re: JDM's Covet Expansion Pack! - Update! 1/11 GTi ingame mesh!! Just a really nice update! With the help of DrowsySam the GTi's mesh was imported to blender where it will spend its days until its finished. Looks beautiful!! Still many things needed to be finished, but looks gorgeous so far!
Re: JDM's Covet Expansion Pack! - Update! 1/11 GTi ingame mesh!! Thanks man! Going to be a while before I can update it though, I need to learn blender... Tomorrow will be my learn blender day. Cool pic for engine junkies, comparison of the 1.5 and the 2.0..
Re: JDM's Covet Expansion Pack! - Update! 1/11 GTi ingame mesh!! Wow, this had seriously grew this I first helped you with this. Coming out nice.
Re: JDM's Covet Expansion Pack! - Update! 1/11 GTi ingame mesh!! So far I hate blender, I can see the uses of it but.. I like the simplicity of crappy ole sketchup.. And I dont know whats causing some faces to now show when its ported in game. Lots of crap I really don't want to deal with..
Re: JDM's Covet Expansion Pack! - Update! 1/11 GTi ingame mesh!! Damn that thing is beautiful, I'm just thinking of what it would look like if someone turned it into a sedan, it would be like an old evo and subaru combined and it would be beast, can't wait for this to come out and keep up the good work JDMClark!
Re: JDM's Covet Expansion Pack! - Update! 1/11 GTi ingame mesh!! Thanks man! I was trying to give it that sexy jdm look.. Anyways I decided to build the parts in sketchup and then port them individually to blender to get it put together correctly. Did spend most of the day trying to learn blender and maybe got like a couple small things done.. So I think its time i show off the new turbo I know its not a fully detailed turbo but it does the job for me. Going to probably re do the intercooling piping also.
Re: JDM's Covet Expansion Pack! - Update! 1/11 GTi ingame mesh!! that looks alot better quality engine than what we have currently at the current textures..are you using 2048x2048 quality?
Re: JDM's Covet Expansion Pack! - Update! 1/11 GTi ingame mesh!! Honestly.. Didnt like that turbo and made it more intense lol.. And I dont know anything about the texturing yet. Nothing too advanced just a simple metal texture with a red valve cover and ill be happy. edit: got rid of the unnecessary junk
Re: JDM's Covet Expansion Pack! - Update! 1/11 GTi ingame mesh!! aren't those pipes kind of high poly? I don't know too much about modeling though.
