You are lucky if people who tell everyone to be eco-friendly drive Japanese econoboxes. Because where I live, the politicians who tell the nation that they should drive EVs, bikes and use public transportation, drive Audi A8s and their bodyguards drive Q7s. All countries and cities are different, but, personally, I enjoy walking and cycling in suburban areas of my home city more than in its central areas. Walking because I find observing flora and fauna of suburban areas more enjoyable than buildings in the city centre, plus less traffic=less polluted air. Cycling because suburban streets are almost car-less outside rush hours and new suburban areas are built with cyclists in mind, so they have bike roads, and in the city centre I either have to drive on the sidewalk or among not so pleased motorists.
It depends if you live in the type of suburbs where you have local shops and amenities that are within reach. Or whether you live in one where you need to walk for 45mins to get to a shop.
They usually send the gritters out if there is any indication from the weather forecasts that there may be snow in the UK.
When there used to be snow, some of the areas around me had road salt around. We had yellow boxes around with road salt in them, but they were rarely used. Around me now though, the worst it gets is slightly icy, which normally clears up in the later hours of the morning, so no road salt here. I am right next to the sea though, so rust is still slightly more of an issue
Oh, don't get the wrong idea. The fact that it's next to the sea does it no favours atall. I.E, it's still like what you're next too
And an overly tall train station. --- Post updated --- Its actually relatively easy to get around Just treat the main roundabout as a normal one, the outer roundabout as a normal one, and the inner roundabouts as individual little roundabouts.
Yeh, and try not to plow into GoAhead's new campaign of buses.. Or plow through the roundabout at 70 mph.
