Hey Gabe, Like I said. I didn't say that you are supposed to rush out updates or anything. It was just constructive critisism about announcing Updates too early, and you should be able to handle that. No one, or at least I did not say you guys are lazy. There is really no need to say "Believe it or not" . I was really trying to point out that it is just that one thing I wrote, not me complaining about everything. That's what i ment when I wrote : "criticism sometimes seems not to be handled very well in this forum" . Of course the topic of this Thread could be interpreted a little bit offending. But I didn't want to open a new Thread, when I am talking about something that might fit in this Thread. I'm sorry that this Forum is just not able to cope with negative Opinions. I think, I didn't hurt anyone with my Post. So why do you?
I don't think the race update has ever had a public release date. To the BeamNG team, I think the way you have dropped blogs and tidbits (I've got to love the huge performance improvements) about the update has been great. Keep up the good work!
Yes, yes, more yes, with a side of extra juicy YES. That is looking nice tdev! Also, simon, I was referring to the "End of December, or early 2014" release time. It may be pushed back, but I will say, and I hope tdev can say so too, that it will be very well worth the wait!
To you, LFJHutch, Tdev, and Estama; Thank you. Keep up the tireless work. Hopefully it will pay off and you guy's wont need to go to school or a job on the side.
I think this is their job, but I also think that Gabe said somewhere that they won't be getting any money until they get legal stuff figured out..
Amazing! Even more Amazing! Now I feel like I felt when I was a 10 Years old Boy waiting for the Christmas Eve . That all sounds great! Nice Work, Guys!
More FPS For me, that problably is the best improvement of all And I think the Pigeon will be very FPS friendly because it is so small.
@devs you should be better and be like ea and such others and be wonderful and make us pay $20 for each car and map dlc and make lots of updates to your games, but don't forget the bugs and glitches or we will not like you guys. (But really, wonderful job, prob only 4 people ever said you did a bad job (minus the people complaining how its too jiggly) Sent from my EM63 using Tapatalk
Now that looks a whole heap better than it did before its readable and you chucked in all the extra information that we havent got before tDev
W...what? No, the CPU load is the same. You get a 25% higher frame rate. What the hell else would we mean? 25% faster means 25% faster, not 25% slower.
No? Not in any way. They mean they got the physics to perform 25% faster, performance wise. There is probably no reason to speed up the physics, they are already fast enough. If I was a dev, I would see absolutely no reason to slow down performance on my game. It would make about less than zero sense. They lightened the load, not increased it. I wouldn't even get close to seeing a purpose in doing that. Ehdit: Eheheh nothing better than gettin' ninja'd by gabester.
Ah, okay. From what I'd understood the physics load had been increased due to the sped up physics... sorry.
It's not really a lack of brain cells as much as it is an abundance of ignorance. Most people who haven't been around for a while probably don't know that there are only 4 people working on this game. People do lack brain cells in the department of researching and using the handy-dandy search bar though. To be honest, any semi-intelligent person would assume that such an amazing and advanced game like this would have been made by a large development team. It's not everyday you see a group of 4 individuals actually able to put so much time and effort into a project like BeamNG and come out with a product so incredible.
I would just like to say to the OP. this game is in alpha. when they say update coming soon they mean within a year. they are a group of four that has limited time as stated. yes i agree updates sooner would be nice but it is just not possible. i would also like to point out star citizen that is also technically in alpha and has been crowd funded to $34 Million +, no they do not give a release time on updates either. they tend to say will be out at end of 2013 for the next big update. then the CEO turns round and says yeah im not happy with that. and they have 4 sperate offices accross the globe. and this forum does respond well to negative criticism especially when it pulls up a good debate or thought or things like that. but when it is criticism that has not been fully thought out before hand then you tend to get neck ache that has happened hear. Thats my 2 pence any way.
